Monitoring Blood Pressure
Taking a Single NBP Measurement
1. Verify the correct cuff type for the patient
and place the cuff on the patient.
2. Press the NBP key.
Starting an Interval Measurement
1. Open the NBP Menu.
2. Select Auto Interval and select a time interval.
3. Press the Start/Stop NBP.
Selecting a Pressure Type
1. In the IBP Menu, select the Label check box and
select ABP, CVP, or PAP, etc.
Zeroing the IBP
1. Verify which IBP transducers are connected to IBP1
or IBP2. NOTE: Make adjustments based on the
cable that is in use.
2. To zero, select the IBP Waveform to open the
Waveform Menu.
3. Turn off the stopcock to the patient and vent the
transducer to atmospheric pressure.
4. Select <pressure> Zero. Waveform status message
shows “<label> Zero - In Progress”. then “<label>
Zero - Completed”.
5. Close the stopcock to atmospheric pressure and
open the stopcock to the patient.
Freezing Waveforms
1. Press the Freeze Waveform key.
2. To unfreeze the waveforms, select the
Freeze Waveform key again.
NOTE: If there has been no user interaction for 60
seconds, the waveforms automatically unfreeze.

Monitoring ECG/Heart Rate
1. Open the ECG Waveform Menu and select an
ECG lead from the Select Waveform list.
2. Verify the Pace Detection setting is correct.
3. Select Arrhythmia, then Arrhythmia Analysis
type: Cardiotach, Basic, or Enhanced.
4. Attach the electrodes as follows:
3-Lead 5-Lead

Monitoring Pulse Rate
Changing the Pulse Rate Source
Select the Pulse Rate numeric pane and select
the desired Pulse Source.
Changing the HR/Pulse Tone Source
Open the HR Menu or Pulse Rate Menu and
select the desired HR/Pulse Tone Source.
Changing the HR/Pulse Tone Volume
Open the HR Menu or Pulse Rate Menu and
select the desired HR/Pulse Tone Volume.
NOTE: Tone not available on Pulse from NBP.
Setting Up Respiration
1. Select RESP waveform to open the
Respiration Waveform Menu.
2. If applicable, change the sweep speed and
scale.
3. Select the RESP numeric pane and adjust the
alarm limits and apnea alarm delay time.

Setting Up CO2 Monitoring
1. Select CO2 waveform to open the CO2
Waveform Menu.
2. If applicable change the sweep speed and scale
3. Under CO2 On/Standby, select On. Use
Standby when you are stopping CO2 monitor-
ing.
4. Select the CO2 numeric pane and adjust the
alarm limits for etCO2, imCO2 and awRR.
5. If Sidestream, Connect the CO2 sample line to
the input port on the monitor. Line automati-
cally zeros.
6. If Mainstream, connect the CO2 sensor and
airway adapter to connector port. Once CO2
Sensor Warmup is completed, select Zero, if
required.
Monitoring SpO2
1. Select the correct sensor for the patient’s size
and application site, and connect the sensor to
the monitor.
2. Select SpO2 waveform to open the SpO2 Wave-
form Menu.
3. If desired, change the Sweep Speed.
4. Select the SpO2 numeric pane.
5. Adjust the alarm limits and response time.
