Newton disc is a disc with segments in rainbow colours. When the disc
is rotated, the colours fade to white. In this way Isaac Newton
demonstrated that white light is a combination of the seven different
colours found in a rainbow.

Dispersion of light refers to the phenomenon where white light is

separated into its individual colors, or spectrum, when passed through
a prism or other optical device

Light is a type of electromagnetic radiation that travels through space

at a constant speed of 299,792,458 meters per second (m/s) in a
vacuum

ight can interact with matter in various ways, such as reflection,

refraction, and absorption. The way light interacts with matter is
responsible for many optical phenomena, including mirages, rainbows,
and the twinkling of stars.

ight has a dual role in our lives, both as a source of energy for
photosynthesis in plants and as a source of information for our visual
system.
