Purpose of Angiography
Angiography may be used to:1
Locate blockages in the lung (pulmonary), heart (coronary), brain (cerebral), and other
smaller blood vessels
Find sites of internal bleeding, or hemorrhage
Find aneurysms, or abnormal dilation of blood vessels, which may cause major health
problems
Observe abnormal blood flow caused by stenosis, or narrowing of the blood vessels
Identify problems with the structure of the heart
Locate internal bleeding or other obstructions that should be removed
