3. Job Set-up

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002.
(2) In the cockpit, make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is (are) in position to tell persons not t
o operate the flight controls.
WARNING: BEFORE YOU START WORK, YOU MUST PUT ON A SAFETY HARNESS AND ATTACH I
T TO THE ACCESS PLATFORM. WITHOUT A SAFETY HARNESS, YOU CAN FALL. THI
S CAN KILL YOU OR CAUSE YOU INJURY.
(3) Put and attach a HARNESS,SAFETY (98L12003001000) before you start work in the work are
a.
(4) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 6M (20 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at zone 322.
(5) Make sure that access panels 321AL and 322AL are removed Ref. AMM TASK 53-45-11-000-0
01 and Ref. AMM TASK 55-32-11-000-001.

B. Make sure that the circuit breaker(s) that follow(s) is (are) open, safetied and tagged. Use the SAFETY
CLIP - CIRCUIT BREAKER as necessary.
4. Procedure
** ON A/C FSN ALL
WARNING: DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
- FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
- GET MEDICAL AID.
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - -
(Material Ref. 08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material Ref. 14SBA1).
NOTE: The antenna mounting screws give electrical bonding between the antenna and the
fuselage structure.
(2) Do a check of the electrical bonding between antenna and the fuselage structure Ref. AMM TA
SK 20-28-00-720-005.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Apply the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material Ref. 06LCG9) to all th
e screws.

B. Installation of the HF Antenna
(1) Put the antenna (1) on the antenna supports (6) and install the antenna (1) with the screws (4)
and the washers (5).
(2) Connect the feedlines (2) and (7) to the antenna (1).
(3) Install the cap nuts (3).
(4) TORQUE the cap nuts (3) to between 0.35 and 0.45 m.daN (30.97 and 39.82 lbf.in).
(5) Apply the Varnish-- Electrical Bonding Structure (Material Ref. 04TMB2) to the cap nuts (3) and
the lugs of the feedlines (2) and (7).
(6) Apply the Coating-- Flexible Structure (Material Ref. 04QAB2) to the heads of the screws (4).
(7) Examine the antenna assembly for the condition of the Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water
Displacing Oily Film System (Material Ref. 12ABE2) layer.
(8) If there is no Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Oily Film System (Material Ref.
12ABE2) on the antenna assembly, apply a new layer of the Corrosion Preventive Compound-
Water Displacing Oily Film System (Material Ref. 12ABE2).
(9) Do a check of the electrical bonding of the HF system Ref. AMM TASK 23-11-00-200-001.

C. Remove the SAFETY CLIP - CIRCUIT BREAKER and the tag(s) and close this (these) circuit breaker(s):

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install access panels 321AL and 322AL Ref. AMM TASK 53-45-11-400-001 Ref. AMM TASK 55
-32-11-400-001.

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
