a. Prenatal

I am eighteen years old, and I have grown into a young adult but I recently got an
opportunity to interview my mother about my prenatal development. Prenatal
development is the beginning journey of our lifespan; it is a fragile and important period
of time in an individual. I got the chance to ask my mother questions about her pregnancy
with me and how it affected her and me. When I was born, I was the first child of my
parents, and the 1st grandchild of my mother’s parents. My mother’s pregnancy was
relatively easy for her, but it still was her first pregnancy so there were difficulties. I was
born at our province in Mahayag Zamboanga del Sur on the 3rd day of January 2004. When
I was born, I was 5 pounds 3 ounces. My mother feels so much pain according to her
because I was so stubborn inside her womb. During my mother’s labor my whole family
was not there, only my mother, my auntie and my uncle. Since I was the first baby in the
next generation of my mother’s family, many people wanted to see and hold me. The
family adjustments to me was simple, because there where no any other people in the
house, but it was a new experience for my mother.
