Teaching Dates and February 28, 2023 Learning Area Science
Time 6:30 - 7:20 – 5B Quarter 3rd
8:10 – 9:00
9:30 – 10:20 2B
10:20 – 11:10 3B
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard: The learners demonstrate an understanding of motion in one dimension.
B. Performance Standard: The learners should be able to conduct a forum on mitigation and
disaster risk reduction.
C. Most Essential Learning Competency: Create and interpret visual representations of the
motion of objects such as tape charts and motion graphs (S7FEIIIb-3)
Determine the x and y axes of a motion graph.
Specific Objectives:
Define x and y axis in a motion graph
Observe how x and y axis is important in a motion graph
Perform plotting with x and y axis
Concept:
Acceleration is the rate of change in velocity. A positive acceleration indicates that the velocity
is increasing while a negative acceleration (sometimes called deceleration) indicates a decreasing
velocity.
Displacement refers to the length of the straight line path of an object that moves in a particular
direction.
Distance refers to the length of the entire path an object moves.
A Graph is a mathematical diagram which shows the relationship between two or more sets of
numbers of measurements.
● Motion refers to a change in position with respect to a particular reference frame within a time
interval.
● Reference Frame is the background used for comparing different positions of an object. It is
also the zero location in a coordinate system.
● Speed refers to the distance traveled by a moving object per unit time.
● Velocity is the rate at which an object moves in a given direction.

ELABORATE
The teacher will ask the students on how motion graphs are being use in our daily life, use the picture
below as reference
EVALUATE
Short Quiz
Direction: True or False. Write true if the statement is correct and write false if it is not.
1.
X-axis and Y-axis can use in making a graph.
2.
Y-axis is usually in horizontal plane.
3.
Motion is a mathematical diagram which shows the relationship between two or more sets of
numbers of measurements.
4. X-axis is horizontal
5. Reference Frame is the background used for comparing different positions of an object.
EXTEND
