3:00 P.M- - 4:00 P.M. – G7 Pearl

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

a. Analyze the concept motion of an object in diagram;

b. Locate the motion of an object using diagram; and

c. Appreciate the importance of describing motion position time

graph in problem solving.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Describing motion: Using Diagram

Reference: Learner’s Material – page 140- 142

Materials: Board Display, Visual Aids

III. Procedures

A. Preliminary Activities

 Prayer

The teacher calls a student to lead the prayer.

 Greetings

The teacher greets the students.

 Checking of attendance

The teacher checks and records the attendance of the students.

 Review
The teacher asks the students about the previous lesson.

 Motivation

The teacher lead an energizes entitled “Saging Saging Papaya”

B. Lesson Proper

A. Activity

The teacher introduces the game “Charades”. The teacher

divides the class into introduce 3 groups. After that the teacher

explain the rules of the game. One player from each group will act

out the motion written by the teacher in a piece of paper. The

groupmates tries to guess the correct motion within the given time

limit.

B. Analysis

The teacher asks the students the following question:

1. What did you observe in our activity?

2. How did you guess the motion being portrayed?

C. Abstraction

The teacher presents a PowerPoint presentation and discusses the

following concepts to the class:

The position of an object describe in many ways

Diagram- is a symbolic representation of information using visualization

technique.

Graph- can be defined as a pictorial representation or a diagram that

represent data or values in organized manner.

Motion graph – a graph is a visual representation that uses lines to show

how two or more sets of measurements are related to each other.

Plotting- a graphical technique for representing a data set, usually as a

graph showing the relationship between two or more variable.

The Cartesian plane- is a two-dimensional coordinate plane formed by the

intersection of two perpendicular lines.

Slope of a line- is a measure of its steepness. Mathematically, slope is

calculated as "rise over run" (change in y divided by change in x).

Q1. What is the initial position of the ball?

Q2. What is its final position?

Q3. What is the position of the ball at 10 seconds?

Q4. At what time is the position of the ball equal to 5 meters?

Q5. At what time is the position of the ball equal to 15 meters?

Table 1: Position of the Ball vs. Time

Position of the ball (m)

Time (s)

0 0
5 5
10 10
15 15
D. Application

Directions: Answer the following questions and give what is being asked.

Q1. What is the position of the dog?

Q2. What is the position of the tree?

Q3. What is the position of the dog with respect to the house?

Q4. What is the position of the tree with respect to the dog?

IV. Evaluation

Directions: Provide the correct answers.
