Ans. Alice was surprised to hear the flowers in the garden speak.

2. How was the tree expected to protect the other plants in Emergencies?
Ans. The tree was expected to protect the other plants by saying ‘Bough- Wough’.

3. How did the hard ground encourage the flowers to talk? What happened in
the other gardens?
Ans. The hard ground encouraged the flowers to talk by keeping them fresh and
alert, unlike the other gardens where the flower beds were too soft putting the
flowers to sleep.

4. Describe the Red Queen as presented by the other flowers?


Ans. The other flowers presented the Red Queen as the one that can move about
like Alice. She is described as bushy, thorny, having an awkward shape and redder
with shorter petals.

5. What did Alice observe about the Red Queen? Why did she want to speak to
her?
Ans. Alice observed that the Red Queen had grown a good deal and was half a
head taller than Alice. She wanted to speak to her for she felt that it would be far
grander to have a talk with a real Queen.
