The Club Success Plan is a helpful tool to assist your club in achieving Distinguished status. This plan is broken into
five sections, along with an area to list contributing members and a list of created action items. With a solid plan and
teamwork, your club will be Distinguished or better in no time!

Goals to Achieve

The Distinguished Club Program (DCP) comprises 10 goals for your club to earn each program year to achieve
one of three Distinguished levels. This Club Success Plan will be used as your guide to becoming Distinguished.
Incorporating Moments of Truth into your club meetings will help get your club on track to being Distinguished
or higher!

The 10 goals of the DCP have been placed into four groups:
Education
1. Four Level 1 awards achieved
2. Two Level 2 awards achieved
3. Two more Level 2 awards achieved
4. Two Level 3 awards achieved
5. One Level 4, Path Completion, or DTM award achieved
6. One more Level 4, Path Completion, or DTM award achieved
Membership
7. Four new, dual, or reinstating members
8. Four more new, dual, or reinstating members
Training
9. A minimum of four club officer roles trained during each of the two training periods
Administration
10. On-time payment of membership dues accompanied by the names of eight members (at least three of whom
must be renewing members) for one period and on-time submission of one club officer list

Encouraging and Experience obsessed- encourage everyone ,and create a lasting experience in all we do
Innovative- always looking for better ways of performing our duties and or leading the change

Patience- being calm,tolerant and understanding in the face of challenges, setbacks or delays

2. Club Executive Committee Interactions


How will decisions be made?
Consultation with all concerned and if it fails, voting process should be considered
Regularly update perspectives and where there is a gap,engage and fix by agreeing on the best option

How will the Club Executive Committee resolve differences of opinion?


If consensus is not reached, voting process should be followed
Intervention of IPP,Club Mentor or Coach should be sought

How will the Club Executive Committee be held accountable for its responsibilities?
Members should understand their roles,expectations and deliverables and encourage training
Set deadlines and milestones,specify end results,time frames and expected levels of effort
Regular feedback reports on activities, finances and progress to promote transparency and plan for future
Reviewing progress regularly and making adjustments where necessary

What obstacles keep members from completing projects?
Personal issues , work commitments and members having other priorities

What are some ways to motivate members to progress through the education program?
Regularly engaging members as to why they joined and benefits to reap and building good relations
One on one follow ups with members to reset and providing support and encouragement
Holding educationals every 2 months to promote and bring awareness to members about the benefits
Advice members on speech topics they choose and acknowledge progress made
Encourage peer mentoring of a member who has completed the project or level
Encourage members to deliver speeches at other clubs at a date and time convenient to them

What is your club’s plan to motivate its current members to renew?
Engage members, monthly check up on members by VPM is advised , to also discuss interests, goals and
past engagements and communication on renewal will therefore be opened early enough
Run refresher sessions around pathways and personal growth and give effective mentorship programs
Ask current members on their experience and how the club can improve
Celebrate achievement(certificate) and let members know how the club appreciate their past involvement
Quarterly social gathering which creates a sense of belonging

Plan an Open house to draw new members

Stating values of the club that makes us unique
Bring a friend, word of mouth on families and friends as well as targeting 3 new members every month
Offering trial membership to guests that VPM has followed up with after visits

Late payments - encourage members to pay early enough
Renewals that are announced late-Treasurer and VPM to make members aware of renewals early on
