SUBJECT

[INTRODUCTION]
PART NUMBERS OF CONNECTORS FOR ELECTRIC PARTS, WIRE HAR-
NESS, ETC.

OUTLINE
It was difficult to obtain new connectors for electric parts and wire harnesses to replace the broken
ones since no part numbers were assigned to them.
The part numbers are now given to connectors that are frequently used. When the existing con-
nector, etc. have broken, place an order for the new ones according to the usual order-placement
procedure while referring to the attached sheets.

Thoroughly read the safety section in the service manual before starting the work to ensure safe operation.
Welding work, if any, should only be done by qualified welders.

b) When you insert the removal jig, the elastic arm will be pushed up and the hook of the terminal will be removed.
[ NOTE ]
Insert the removal jig until its truncheon-like part touches the terminal completely.

c) When the removal jig is raised about 30∞, the elastic arm and terminal will be pushed up and the terminal will be
removed from the fixed projection. Slightly push it further in this state. The terminal has already been removed at
this point. Thus, you can remove the terminal by slightly pulling the electric wire out.
[ NOTE ]
If you raise the removal jig too high, the terminal will deform. Hold it up only slightly. In addition, if you insert the
removal jig too deep, the elastic arm may be damaged, so caution is advised.

3 How to remove the male-side terminal
1 After removing the front holder, slightly hold the electric wire and set the removal jig (ZT001-00420) in the elastic arm
and key groove.

2 When you lower the removing jig in downward direction, the terminal will start to face downward. The terminal has
already been removed at this point. Thus, you can remove the terminal by slightly pulling the electric wire out.
[ NOTE ]
If the terminal fails to be removed after the electric wire has been pulled out slightly, repeat the steps as outlined above.
Do not forcibly pull the electric wire, this may cause the elastic arm to break.

In downward direction

4 How to remove the shield pin

The shield pin can be removed by performing the same procedure as for male terminal removal.

5 Removal precautions

1 When removing the front holder

a) If the removal jig has inadvertently shaved the hook of the holder, replace the holder with a new one, regardless of
the extent of damage.
2 When removing the terminal
a) Confirm that the tip of the removal jig is put in the gaps at the terminal, elastic arm and key groove always before
beginning work.
b) When raising the elastic arm, never shake tool ZT001-00420 left and right (do not lever the terminal).
c) Use only the specified jig, ZT001-00420, to remove the female terminal. If any jig other than specified is used, you
may insert it accidentally into the contact part with the male terminal. If this happens, always replace it with a new
one, regardless of whether it is damaged or not.
d) If the male and female terminals cannot be removed by slightly pulling the electric wire, do not pull them by force
but do over again once more.
e) Always check the terminal for deformation after removal. Replace the deformed terminal, if any, with a new one.
This applies also to broken or out-of-place wire seal.
3 When removing the shield pin
a) Always check the wire seal for breaking after removal. Replace the broken wire seal, if any, with a new one.
