A subject is the person, thing or place which is spoken about in a sentence. It


is generally a noun or a pronoun.
A predicate is the part of a sentence or clause that contains a verb. It tells the
reader what the subject is or does.
Example: I went to the circus.

Identify the subject and predicate in each sentence. Color the subject pink
and the predicate blue.

2) My dad built a treehouse.

3) A big spider climbed up the wall.

4) The horse is in the barn.
