Dear Customer!
Thank you for purchasing Triol Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), the key to your
successful industrial strategy.
Triol AT27 VFD is a reliable solution for oil and mining industries, metallurgy,
construction, housing and public utilities, and other industrial sectors, that helps you
increase the lifetime of your equipment, optimize your technological processes, and
reduce maintenance costs.
Triol AT27 VFD is a complex electrical drive that must be operated by a qualified
personnel, inappropriate or incompetent operation of the drive can cause failures of
both the drive and working parts.
The VFD is complete with the following manuals:

 Registration Certificate
IMPORTANT: This manual includes only the basic steps required to run with VFD
on-site operation: setting parameters without motor, with motor, without load test and
with load test.
The list may be extended with the additional documents (The Factory Acceptance
Testing (FAT) and others) depending on the VFD line.
NOTE: The procedures of setting into operation, external equipment connections
(analog/digital input/outputs sensors etc.) are given in the Operation Manual in print.
The controller settings are given in the Programming Manual in print. The Modbus
Map is available in electronic version only.
Procedures of starting/stop, recommendations for settings, connection of external
equipment (such as analog/digital input/outputs sensors are given in the Operation
manual.

Configure access points and load the homepage Wizard setting

1. Configure access points and load the


homepage Wizard setting
For Wizard access point configuration, it is necessary:
- Activate Wi-Fi module on a mobile device;
- Connect to AT27XXXXXXXXX network, see figure 1, enter password:
123456789;
- Select Google Chrome browser in your mobile device, note that Wizard works
in this browser only;
- In browser address bar enter URL: 192.168.4.1 as it is shown in figure 2;
- During the Wizard software download start page is displayed which inform the
user about product. Wait until the download is complete;
- After Wizard download on your mobile device you see the page which displays
lines for user ID and password enter.
Login: User
Password: 1111
After username and password entering click Confirm button, as shown in figure
3.

User interface language selection

2. User interface language selection


After login and password introduction Wizard directs user to language selection
page.
There are three languages available: English, Spanish, Russian.
The language selection page shown in figure 4. Select preferred language and
click Next button.
After the language selection page, Wizard Help page must open next.
Page through carefully, study all information which let to know about product
and its features and tools. For scrolling click to blue banners until reaching page
referred to figure 5. On help pages referred following information:
- editable and non-editable parameters;
- Sidebar Wizard and work with them;
- statuses AT27;
- help window.
Help page automatically loads into the Wizard only when you initially configure
AT27. In case of reconfiguration help page is accessible from the main menu as it
is shown in figure 8.

Date, time and time zone setting

3. Date, time and time zone setting


For date, time and time zone setting customer can click on blue information fields
referred at figure 7 and set required data or set date, time and time zone from
mobile device through synchronization with AT27. For this case click on "Sync with
device" button after data synchronization press "Apply" button.

4. Wizard homepage of AT27 settings


After date, time and time zone settings press «Next» button and navigate to the
settings page AT27 as shown in figure 8.

«Continue setting» - is intended to continue AT27 setting from point at which


setting previously been interrupted;
«New setting» - is intended of initial setup AT27;
«Help» - is intended for navigate to help information;
«Data / Time» -is intended for date, time, Time zone setting.

5. Start of the VFD settings


Click on the "New setting" button which is shown in figure 7 and go to LV mains
auxiliary supply setting page shown in figure. 9. Make sure that auxiliary supply
voltage is in accordance with AT27 technical requirements, status VFD is "Ready"
and there’s no alarms.

Emergency stop button checking

6. Emergency stop button checking


Go to emergency button test which is installed at AT27 control compartment door.
If the button is not pressed Wizard shows the window in blue as in figure 11 or if the
button is pressed Wizard changes status of window from blue to red as in figure 10.

After emergency stop button test, reset alarm status in UMKA 27 controller. For
this case set status "Fault Ack" from "No" to "Yes" in first (main) page of UMKA 27
controller. In case of unsuccessful test, check serviceability of emergency button
and connection of wires to button and UMKA 27. After test is completed go to next
page by pressing "Next" button.

For Triol AT27 VFD discrete and analog inputs and outputs boards self-diagnosis
start you must click "Next" as figure12

Roof fans checking

8. Roof fans checking


For Roof fans checking click the "Start air cooling system check" button as figure
13. If test was successful click the "Next" button. If test was fail, check cable
connection from VFD control system compartment to roof fans. If connections
presence accordance with VFD wiring diagram and problem is not identified, please
contact customer service of TRIOL Corporation.

9. Limit switches doors checking


For limit switches of Triol AT27 VFD
doors it is necessary:
- open every door, check Wizard,
status of limit switches changes from
green color to red;
- close every door, check Wizard,
status of limit switches changes from
red color to green.
- if all or one of limit switches
operate incorrectly and test is failed
check limit switch position, correct it
and try again.
View of limit switch test page is
displayed in figure 14.
After the test is complete go to next
page by pressing the «Next» button.

Power cells precharge checking

10. Power cells precharge checking


Visit to power cells charge test page which is shown in Figure 15. Study
requirements for equipment before performing the test shown on the main page.
Select type of control signals for vacuum contactors and vacuum circuit breakers
which is used in switching cabinets and switchgears. Only two types of control
signals are available: "Impulse" or "Potential". After switchgears and switching
cabinets settings press «Charge checking» and wait for precharge test to complete
as it is shown in Figure 16. User can monitor precharge process in Wizard page or
on UMKA 27 display.

Attention! Before testing make sure that power circuits are not earthed on
high voltage side and HV circuits are disassembled.

If test is failed, please check faults and statuses of power cells which you can find
on a page shown in figure 17. If the problem is not identified, please contact
customer service of TRIOL Corporation.

11. Checking PWM of power cells


without input high voltage
Go to the test page to check PWM of power cells without input high voltage as
shown in figure 18. Use all default settings specified. Press "PWM checking (pulse
width modulation)" and run the test. Wait until test is completed as shown in figure
19.

If the test is failed by DC bus undervoltage of power cell, then reduce acceleration
time in «Acceleration time» window for one second and try to test again.

AT27 supply Switchgear control signals test

12. AT27 supply Switchgear control


signals test
For testing control signals from switchgear, move vacuum switch breaker to test
position and perform it by switching on and off remotely. Perform visual control of
table cells colors which must change: from green to red color and from red to green
if the output signals of switchgear changed (see figure 20). Switchgear signals must
change correctly. If signals changes incorrectly, please check wires connection from
switchgear to the VFD and all required signals for switchgear control.

If the switchgear does not contain the “Input switchgear fault” and “Readiness of
input switchgear” signals it is necessary to install a jumper on the contacts 9 and 10
of the ХТ100 terminal block simulating the signal “Readiness of input switchgear”
and contacts 8 and 9 must remain open as shown in figure 20.

After testing is complete press «Next» button and go to the next page of Wizard.

Analog outputs calibration

13. Analog inputs calibration


Wizard allows you to calibrate three analog inputs of the VFD. Calibration is
carried out sequentially: the 1st, 2nd, 3rd analog inputs. Page view is shown in
figure 22.
In order to calibrate analog inputs you
must:
- select type of analog input 4-20 mA or 0-
10 V by selecting the drop down menu
«Select type of analog input 1";
- connect the reference signal with
required value (4mA or 0V) to the
specified input in calibration page and
press «Calibrate»;
- wait for the calibration completion
which showed in message window as
successfully;
- connect the reference signal
required value (20mA or 10V) to the
specified input in the calibration page and
click «Calibrate»;
- wait for the calibration completion
which showed in message window as
successfully;
Run analog channel calibration 2 and 3
similarly to the above given sequence.
After calibration of analog input
channels move to the next page.
This test point is not mandatory but is only
applicable in case if analog channels in
AT27 are used.

14. Analog outputs calibration


This configuration is not mandatory in absence of need for its implementation
press «Next» button.
Wizard allows you to calibrate analog output of the VFD. Calibration is carried out
on the page shown in figure 23, 24.

Analog outputs calibration
In order to calibrate the analog outputs, you must:
- select type of analog output 4-20 mA or 0-10 V by selecting drop down menu
«Select of analog output»;
- calibrate analog output strictly observing sequence which showed at this page if
you have some difficulties, please seek help in windows
- value setting is done using virtual keyboard as shown in figure 23.
Calibration procedure for the analog outputs is shown below:
1. Select type of analog output 4 ... 20 mA or 0 ... 10 V;
2. Connect the measuring device to analog output terminal block of АТ27 as it is
shown in figure 23;
3. Set analog output control mode to “Manual”, as shown in figure 23;
4. To measure the lower point of the analog output, click the "Establish" button;
5. Set measured value in % as shown in figure 24;
6. For upper point of the analog output follow steps showed in 4 and 5 points.
7. To complete calibration process click "Calibrate" button;
8. To check the operation of analog output, set point values: 0, 50%, 100%, make
sure that received output values are correct.
After calibration of the analog output go to the next page by pressing «Next»
button.

15. Operability test with high voltage


and without motor
High voltage must be ready for switch on, acceleration and deceleration
parameters must be set, High voltage protection parameters must be set. Example
of settings shown in figure 25.

Start the VFD by pressing «PWM Start» button. Monitor process of frequency
increase and output voltage generating by Wizard.
After reaching of predetermined frequency stop of the VFD by pressing «STOP»
button as shown in figure 25.
After test is complete go to next page by pressing "Next" button.

motor start settings
Enter motor acceleration parameter in accordance with features of connected
load, all recommended settings mentioned in the table 2. Select necessary
characteristic from drop down tab «Select V/f characteristic». If you select custom
characteristic, then it is possible to set output voltage values of the VFD for each
point of V/f characteristic. Setting values of V/f characteristic is performed in each
table cells as shown Figure 28.
After setting completion go to the next page.

18. Operability test with high voltage


and motor
Before the VFD test with motor it is necessary to enter settings shown in figure 29.
More about settings seek at the help marked -
Press «PWM Start» as it is shown in figure 30, wait for motor frequency reach
predetermined frequency, and then press "Stop" button. After test press «Next»
button.

Automatic reclosing setting

19. AT27 operation test with digital user


connections
Test of user digital signals which connect to Triol AT27 VFD terminal block as
shown at diagram at figure 31.

Passage of user signals can be monitored by checking terminal block color


change from red to green and from green to red. Green indicates a closed state
(switch on) of user digital signal, Red means open state (switch off) of user digital
signal.
In case of not passing of the signals check the serviceability of all wires and
connections of user to terminal block of the VFD. If the problem is not solved, please
contact customer service of TRIOL Corporation. If one or more user signals which
shown in figure 30 are not required, please pass this test and go to the next page by
pressing «Next» button.
If the test is complete go to the next page by pressing «Next» button.

20. Automatic reclosing setting


This item of configuration is optional and configurable, only when necessary.
Automatic restart is adjusted according to three parameters, as shown in figure 32
namely:
- Automatic reclosing quantity;
- Time to automatic reclosing;
- Turn on automatic reclosing.

After setting necessary parameters automatic reclosure is enabled by pressing


"On" button.
After switching on automatic reclosure the following start conditions are activated:
- Maximum current protection;
- Failure of the power cell;
- High voltage in DC Bus;
- Motor overload;
- Motor underload;
- Undervoltage of HV mains;

21. Catch on fly settings


Set of motor catch on fly mode is performed by pressing «On» button, as shown
in figure 33.

Catch on the fly- Off;
Search direction- Forward;
Search time- 5.0s;
Bias current- 20%.

Set the VFD operating frequency range, overload current, underload current,
unbalance output current. Values shown on figure 34 are recommended values
which are set by default.
After completion of settings go to next page press on the "Next" button.

23. SCADA communication parameters


setting
This setting is optional and is performed only in presence of digital communication
with SCADA by serial port. Configure serial communication ports AT27 with SCADA
in accordance with figure 37. Check communication availability between the drive
and SCADA.
After finishing of all communication setting press the "Next" button.

24. Test and setup report creating


After completion of the tests, Wizard generates a report in digital form as shown in
figure 37.

Depending on the success of testing Wizard generates a full conclusion about
readiness of the VFD for operation:
"VFD not ready for operation! »-AT27 is not ready for operation;
"VFD ready for operation! »-AT27 is ready for operation.
Triol AT27 VFD tests are considered passed successfully if the VFD passed the
following points:
- ventilation is operating;
- expansion boards are operating;
- precharge is operating;
- PWM is operating;
- AT27 operates without HV mains;
- AT27 operates with HV mains and motor;
- AT27 operates with HV mains, with motor and load.
