BOW HOUSE
The client's desire to have a home that is homey, warm and has a fairly large yard like the place
where they spent their childhood in a house in rural Java, led the architect to develop the
concept of this house. Javanese vernacular buildings generally represent the culture and
lifestyle of the Javanese people, one of which is humble and simple. This was then developed
by the architect into the concept of a house bowing to this design.

The concept of a crouched house (BOW HOUSE) was implemented by the architect by designing
a house with a roof that sticks low down. The shape of the roof which also functions as the
facade of the building is also made with terraces to hide the existence of the second floor of the
building so that it gives the impression that the height of this building is only one floor. In
addition, the low roof shape also creates a space experience at the entrance that is not
intimidating and gives the impression of a warm welcome.

The warm and homey impression of this house is also confirmed by the selection of building
materials, which are dominated by elements of brown color and wood tones. The atmosphere
of the space is also supported by the presence of a side garden that is quite spacious and
beautiful. The two elements of nature that are side by side, coupled with the layout of the
space that is made more open and minimally bulky, is one of the architects' efforts to rebuild
the homeowner's memory of his childhood home.

Comment
This house is one of my favorite houses, because it fits me who wants a mix
between a modern house and a traditional house. If you look directly at this
house you will definitely know thatthis house must belong to the Javanese, who
are humble. I have seenthis house video on youtube, and this house is very nice,
he has compact and comfortable room. Javanese philosophy is embedded in this
house, with the concept of a ducking house, it looks simple but when we entered
the house it was very cool. this house inspires me for my future home, and I hope
this house can inspire you all.
