1. Introduction
Managers play a pivotal role in shaping organizations by fostering effective teams through
relationship-building and teamwork. This poster delves into the strategies managers can employ to
create effective teams, the rules they should set, and the resulting contributions to employee
satisfaction.

2. Creating Effective Teams:

To establish effective teams, managers must consider the project background, industry context, and
goals. Understanding these factors ensures alignment and clarity for team members. It is essential to
provide a clear roadmap for the team's success.

 Rules to Foster Effective Teams:

i. Clear Communication: Managers must encourage open and transparent communication. This
fosters a collaborative environment and prevents misunderstandings.
ii. Empowerment and Accountability: Empowering team members with decision-making authority
and holding them accountable for outcomes build ownership and trust.

Example: In a software development project, the manager sets a rule of regular stand-up
meetings where each team member provides updates. This enhances communication and
accountability.

3. Contribution to Employee Satisfaction:

The rules set by managers directly impact employee satisfaction. Clear communication and
empowerment boost morale and engagement.

 Theories:
1. Self-Determination Theory: Employees' satisfaction increases when they feel autonomous and
competent. Empowerment aligns with this theory, as it gives employees control over their work
(Deci & Ryan, 1985).
2. Expectancy Theory: When employees believe their efforts will lead to desired outcomes, their
motivation and satisfaction improve. Clear communication of goals and expectations enhances
this belief (Vroom, 1964).
Example: An employee values open communication for expressing ideas. This aligns with
Maslow's need for belongingness and Herzberg's motivator factors, enhancing job satisfaction.
