Mar 2022 – Present: RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANTS (PVT) LIMITED (RDC) (SRI LANKA)
• Bridge Engineer, National Expert, in Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded Kandy Suburban Railway Project in Sri
Lanka, responsible for structural assessment of existing bridges, steel and concrete, and conceptual, preliminary and
detailed design of the proposed railway bridges and viaducts in the feasibility study and the detailed design stages.
• Regularized and adopted scientific approach to structural inspections and assessment of existing bridges, and
introduced design and construction strategies. Established a frame of reference based on international examples for
decision making and thus expedited decision making process in the project. This adopted system approach to decisions
making created a common platform for approaching the problems rather than individuals’ opinions.
• Enhanced the knowledge about human, social, environmental, cultural and contextual factors to be considered in a
bridge design and construction methods.
• Currently leading the detail design phase of the project which comprises both concrete and steel structures.
Sep 2018 – Jan 2020: GREEN TECH CONSULTANTS (PVT) LIMITED (SRI LANAKA)
• Construction Engineer (Highway & Service Structures), in Southern Expressway extension project, section – I, 30
km, from Matara to Beliatta, in Sri Lanka - consultancy services for design review and construction supervision of civil
works, played a leading role in devising construction strategies. And reviewed and rectified construction process,
construction issues, methodology of repairs, safety arrangements and false-work design for major highway structures:
viaducts, bridges, box underpasses, culverts, retaining walls, service buildings and toll facilities.
• Gained confidence in handling the repairs, stocking and testing of precast post-tensioned beams.
• Investigated and revealed the secrets behind the many construction issues, and made number of crucial decisions with
strong supportive references, especially when others had hesitation to come forward to the scene. As a result,
construction went smoothly without delays and it resulted in project completion as scheduled.
• Practiced and enjoyed critical thinking, quick learning ability, critically appraising approach and effective decision
making. Moreover, gained qualification and confident of making on-the-spot decisions. Appreciated project
management principles. Eventually emerged reliable person and key decision maker in my purview.
Aug 2017 – Aug 2018: OCYANA CONSULTANTS (PVT) LIMITED (SRI LANAKA)
• Structural Engineer (Highway & Services), in Southern Expressway extension project, section – I, 30 km, from
Matara to Beliatta, in Sri Lanka - consultancy services for design review and construction supervision of civil works,

succeeded in the comprehensive design review of long viaducts, with concrete precast post-tensioned beams and in-
situ deck, river bridges, overpass bridges, box underpass and culverts, retaining walls, service buildings, toll facilities
and road furniture. Guided contractor’s design teams and led the design works.
• Satisfactorily managed the large volume of design works and demonstrated sound structural knowledge and
comprehensive project management and strategy devising skills in managing and administering the design works. Thus,
played a vital role in avoiding design delays and contractual consequences.
• Appreciated the use of simplified analysis and design methods in critical appraisal and efficient decision making.
• Practiced presenteeism and stoicism to overcome work pressure, and earned trust and attention of the team members
and management. Finally achieved the status of multitasker, reliable and efficient decision maker in my area.
May 2011 – Oct 2011: SQUIRE MECH ENGINEERING (PVT) LTD, SRI LANKA
• Site Engineer, in Valvetithurai water supply project, responsible for the progress, quality control, safety of the
construction of elevated water tank and office buildings. Accomplished as a coordinator, planner, and implementer.
• Liaised with the employer (National Water Supply & Drainage Board) and other government bodies to maintain the
materials supplies uninterrupted. Regularly contacted high level bureaucrats and established a communication line for
the betterment of the project. Succeeded as a logistics officer.
Sep 2008 – Mar 2010: ENGINEERS PARTNERSHIP, CIVIL & STRUCTURAL CONSULTANTS, SINGAPORE
• Structural Design Engineer (General), succeeded in detailed analysis, design, detailing and checking of reinforced
concrete high-rise buildings with pile foundation. Accomplished proficiency in reinforced concrete design and detailing.
• Gained fluency in analysis, design and detailing of high-rise buildings up to 48 stories.
• Obtained conversant in applications of SAP 2000, SAFE and ETABS programs.
• Received appreciation from the management for reliable and hard working.
Jul 2006 – Sep 2007: UNITED NATIONS OFFICE FOR PROJECT SERVICES (UNOPS), SRI LANKA
• Site Engineer, was responsible for progress, quality, safety, purchasing, accounting, measurements and coordination.
• Lived as an emergency social worker and served displaced people for their water and sanitation facilities.
• Overall, achieved as a multitasker: site engineer, purchaser, and finance manager.
