3. Test method and results


3.1 Construction
[Method] (1) Confirmation of appearance and assembling state, component materials
(2) Insulation distances
①Between live parts and mounting panel
②Between primal terminal and secondary terminal.
[Criterion] Insulation distance: In accordance with IEC60947-5-1(Pollution degree 3)

3.5 Insulation resistance test


[Method] Measure the insulation resistance under the following conditions
(1) Measure equipment: DC500V insulation resistance tester
(2) A measurement part:
Full voltage:
①Between X1 terminal and X2 terminal(No Built-in LED lamp).
②Between live parts and mounting panel.
Transformer:
①Between primal terminal and secondary terminal.
②Between secondary terminal grounding metal.
③Between live parts and mounting panel.

3.6 Dielectric strength test


[Method] Insulation breakdown is checked when the test voltage is applied for 1 minute between the
following parts.
(1) Measuring part is described in item 3.5
(2) Test voltage:
Full voltage:
①Between X1 terminal and X2 terminal (No Built-in LED lamp) :AC1000V (60Hz)
②Between live parts and mounting panel :AC1000V (60Hz)
Transformer:
①Between primal terminal and secondary terminal :AC2500V(60Hz)
②Between secondary terminal grounding metal :AC1000V(60Hz)
③Between live parts and mounting panel :AC2500V(60Hz)
[Criterion] No dielectric breakdown is allowed (Leak electric current: 1mA or less)
[Result] Insulation breakdown wasn’t found.

3.7 Secondary short test


[Method] The test is effected on the following conditions.
(1) Applied voltage : Rating voltage×110%
(2) Frequency : 50Hz
(3) Duration : 1 hour
[Criterion] (1) The damage and ignition of a transformer aren’t allowed.
(2) The damage and melting of a transformer’s case aren’t allowed.
(3) Insulation resistance: See section 3.5
(4) Dielectric strength: See section 3.6
[Result] (1) The damage of a transformer and ignition weren’t found.
(2) The damage and melting of a transformer’s case weren’t found.

3.8 Heat shock test


[Method] After the test samples placed under the following conditions, damage and deformations are
checked.
(1) Ambient temperature and duration:-55℃(30min)→+85℃(30min)
(2) Cycle number of times: 20 cycles
[Criterion] (1) No damage and deformation are allowed.
(2) Non-lighting and blink of light department aren’t allowed.
(3) Insulation resistance: See section 3.5
(4) Dielectric strength: See section 3.6

(2) Humidity : 95%RH
(3) Duration : 500 hours

3.13 Terminal strength


[Method] Terminals and main body resin are checked for damages in the following conditions.
(1) Terminal screw clamping torque test:
① Clamping torque(M3.5) : 1.8N・m
② Connecting wire : 0.5mm2
(2) Terminal tensile test
① Clamping torque : 0.8N・m
② Connecting wire : 0.5mm2
③ Tensile load : 49N
④ Tensile direction : Drawer direction of the wire
⑤ Tensile time : 1 minute
[Criterion] (1) No damage of terminal joint and terminal screw is allowed.
(2) No disconnection of the coil is allowed.
[Result] (1) Damage of terminal joint and terminal screw wasn’t found.
(2) Disconnection of the coil wasn’t allowed.

3.14 Impulse breakdown voltage


[Method] The test is effected on the following conditions.
(1) Test voltage : 6kV
(2) Pulse width : 1.2×50μs
(3) Number of times : For each 1 time plus and minus
(4) Test part : Between live parts and mounting panel
[Criterion] (1) No breakdown is allowed.
(2) Non-lighting and blink aren’t allowed.
[Result] (1) Breakdown wasn’t found.
(2) Non-lighting and blink weren’t found.

3.15 Water proof test (IP-x5)


[Method] The test samples is mounted in condition on AGA type control box and according to IP-x5 (jet
proof) prescribed in the IEC pub.529,the test is checked. The test conditions are shown below.
(1) Test tool : 6.3mm I.D. nozzle
(2) Water pressure : 30kPa
(3) Water spray angle : All direction
(4) Test time : 3 minutes
(5) Distance between the test sample and nozzle :3m
[Criterion] (1) No intrusion of water inside the pushbutton switch or the control box is allowed.
(2) Insulation resistance: See section 3.5
(3) Dielectric strength: See section 3.6
[Result] (1) Water intrusion into the equipment and control box unit wasn’t observed.
(2) Insulation resistance after this test : 100MΩ more over at each position
(3) Dielectric strength test after this test : No breakdown.

3.16 Dust proof test (IP-6x)


[Method] The test sample which is dried up after the water proof test, is mounted in normal condition on
AGA type control box and according to IP-6x (dust tight) prescribed in the IEC pub.529,the test is
performed. The test conditions are shown below.
(1) Equipment internal pressure (negative pressure) : Water column 200-260 mm
(2) Talc powder used and amount : Conform to JIS K1410 (zinc oxide) Wako Class 1
209-00015 approx 2 kg used.
(3) Test time : 8 hours
(4) Testing apparatus : Shinwa gas Apparatus K.K (Type : SGF-02)
[Criterion] (1) No intrusion of powder inside the pushbutton switch or the control box is allowed.
(2) Insulation resistance: See section 3.5
(3) Dielectric strength: See section 3.6
[Result] (1) Dust intrusion into the equipment and control box unit wasn’t observed.
(2) Insulation resistance after this test : 100MΩ more over at each position
(3) Dielectric strength test after this test : No breakdown.

3.17 Light discrimination


[Method] The test is effected on the following conditions.
(1) Applied voltage : Rating voltage
(2) Panel illumination : 1000 lx
(3) Panel color : 5Y7/1
(4) Sighting distance : 10m
(5) On and off light time : 1s duty
[Criterion] Both lighting and lighting-out shall be discernible.
[Result] Both lighting and lighting-out of the sample was discernible.

3.18 Lighting life test


[Method] The test is effected on the following conditions.
(1) Applied voltage : Rating voltage
(2) Test environment : Normal temperature and Normal humidity
[Criterion] Non-lighting and blink of light department aren’t allowed.
[Result] Non-lighting and blink of light department weren’t found in 4000 hour.
