Abstract: This research study conducts a comprehensive techno-economic analysis of energy storage
systems (ESS) for grid stabilization in renewable energy-based power systems in Uganda, with a specific
focus on solar energy. The primary objective is to assess the feasibility and economic viability of
integrating ESS into the Ugandan power grid to enhance grid stability and accommodate intermittent
solar power generation. The study explores the current state of renewable energy and solar power in
Uganda, identifies grid stabilization challenges, evaluates different energy storage technologies, and
analyzes the cost-effectiveness of implementing ESS in the Ugandan context. The findings of this
research will provide valuable insights to policymakers, energy planners, and stakeholders in Uganda's
energy sector to facilitate the integration of renewable energy and improve grid stability.

decisions and formulating effective strategies to advance renewable energy integration, improve grid
stability, and foster sustainable energy development in Uganda.
