The term “Men sana in corpora sano” means that a healthy body makes a sound time. More
and more people nowadays are aware of the truth behind the maxim.
As a result, they make sports an integral part of their lives. Some people participate in sports
to release energy and tension, while others do it to make friends. Sports, such as soccer, basketball or
boxing, have become an acceptable way to release energy and aggression.
Other sport like gold, mountain climbing, dancing or bowling can be means of starting or
consolidating friendships. Most sports offer a constructive escape from the pressures of the everyday

Smoking : Good or Not?

One of terrifying facts about smoking is that, due to smoking about 50 thousand people die every
year in Britain. This number of deaths is seven times as many as in road accidents which is around seven
thousand deaths every year.
The data goes on. Smoking causes approximately ninety percent of lung cancers. If we smoke five
cigarettes a day, we are six times more likely to die of lung cancer than a non-smoker. Smoking twenty
cigarettes a day makes the risk nineteen times greater. In addition, around ninety five percent of those
suffering from bronchitis are smokers. And the big news is that smokers are two and half times more likely
to die of heart disease than those who aren’t. Smokers’ children are also more likely to have bronchitis
and pneumonia. From one hour in a smoky room, a non-smoker breaths as much cancer-causing
substances as if she or he had smoked fifteen cigarettes.
So, is smoking good for us? Yes, it is really good for those who are running the tobacco companies
because, of course, they do make a lot of money out of it. But how about the people who take this
cigarette as one of their favorite things in the world? It is absolutely, not good for them and those around
them.
