JOB DESCRIPTION:

Supervisor

 The purpose of the supervisor is to effectively plan, control and monitor the
performance of the kitchen and merchandising departments to ensure that they
operate at an optimal level
 Develop and Implement strategies to meet sales targets across departments
 Monitor wastage and develop and implement methods to reduce wastage across
departments
 Develop and implement shrinkage controls across departments
 Manage expenses within budgets
 Evaluate ordering records per product category in relation to rate of sale
 Conduct spot checks to ensure that KVI’s are in stock in all departments
 Implement daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly/after hour controlled department stock
takes and investigate discrepancies
 Develop methods to improve stock turns across departments
 Stock rotation - conduct spot checks across departments
 Conduct spot checks across departments and develop methods to improve accuracy
of pricing on shelf
 Analyze price surveys and determine key lines that require price adjustment and
implement accordingly
 Spot check sales floor to ensure all products have neat and tidy prices displayed
 Theme POS is neat and tidy and removed once the theme is over (eg. Easter)
 Verify promotional orders regarding quantities / timing
 Evaluate stock levels according to rate of sales and duration of promotion to reduce
insufficient / surplus stock
 Conduct spot checks daily to ensure all stock is clean and neatly displayed
 All sales areas are clean neat and tidy at all times
 Conduct daily spot checks across all departments to ensure hygiene and
housekeeping standards are being met
 Develop and implement methods to improve customer care results
 Dicispline staff Using correct procedures
 Coach staff To meet job and organizational requirements
 Ensure all staff are aware of the required work standards and are given a
performance review at 2x per year
 Communicate new developments with staff on an ongoing basis
 Evaluate shifts and rosters to optimize staff within budget, limiting use of casuals and
overtime on a weekly and monthly basis
 Planned annual leave cycles
 Satisfied customers:
o Resolving customer complaints
o Advising customers
