Waste Supplier Questionnaire

Purpose
The Waste Supplier Questionnaire allows the company to realise where and how the produced waste is re-processed,
disposed of and how much is diverted from landfill.
Scope
The form is required to be completed by all waste contractors which receive, and process Kier’s waste.

Requirements
This information is essential for internal reporting processes and supports Waste Duty of Care compliance.

The evidence should be supplied from the following documentation:

1. Reports generated by waste contractors that are certified to PAS 402 ‘Waste resource
management - specification for performance reporting’

2. Regulator returns (Environment Agency, SEPA, NRW, NIEA) for waste facilities used to calculate
basic diversion from landfill rates

The form is to be completed by the waste facility. Waste streams which are not originally listed in the form can be added
with the appropriate material description and EWC code.

Once complete, a short description of the processing stream of the material, transport to further facilities (if applicable)
and associated destination permit number is to be added. Finally, the waste stream type is to be broken down into:

Reused – any operation where products or components are not processed as waste and are used again for the same
purpose for which they were produced

Recycled – any operation where waste materials are reprocessed into products, materials or substances, either for the
original or other purposes

Recovered – any operation where waste is recovered, preserving resources and using waste in place of other raw
materials. Energy recovery from waste is the conversion of non-recyclable waste materials into heat, electricity or fuel

Disposal/Landfilled – waste is deposited into land or incinerated without energy recovery

Please note, its is required that the final destination permit number is disclosed, if the waste is sent to another facility
from the transfer station.
