ARTICLE I.

NAME OF STUDENT ORGANIZATION*


The organization shall be called Master Baking at UCSD.

ARTICLE II. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE*


The goal of the organization is to cultivate an atmosphere of collaboration
through the fundamentals of baking. The organization members will learn the
skills and techniques to further their baking skills and knowledge.

ARTICLE III. NONPROFIT STATEMENT*


Master Baking at UCSD is a non-profit student organization.

ARTICLE IV. REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP*


There is a ten dollar fee required for membership each quarter. Anyone who is an
undergraduate at UCSD can become a member. There are no restrictions to becoming a
member. In order to become a member, you must show up to half of all the GBMs in the
quarter and pay for the membership fee. A member can remain in the organization if
she/he fails to attend all GBMs if they have a reasonable reason as to why they could not
attend.

ARTICLE V. FREQUENCY OF ORGANIZATION MEETINGS*


Our organization will meet once a week. There are a required two meetings each quarter
and at least six a year. Thirty minutes will be required minimum for an official meeting.

ARTICLE VI. QUALIFICATIONS FOR HOLDING OFFICE AND METHODS OF SELECTING


AND REPLACING OFFICERS*
Only registered UCSD students may hold office in the organization. Only registered
UCSD students may vote in elections for the selection of the organization’s officers.
There will be 7 officers. The officers will be elected by the previous officers that are going
to graduate. They can be elected every quarter. Anyone that is an undergraduate and a
member is eligible for office. They will assume their positions after the executive
committee decides they will be the new officer. Replacement and removal will be done by
the executive committee.

ARTICLE VII. RISK MANAGEMENT*


Master Baking at UCSD is a registered student organization at the University of
California, San Diego, but not part of the University itself.

Master Baking at UCSD understands that the University does not assume legal liability
for the actions of the organization. There will be possible risks associated with the
organization’s activities including working with minors or the elderly. Other risks may
potentially include burns or other small injuries associated with operating an oven.
Master Baking at UCSD will use current industry and governmental safety
standards/practices to mitigate risks, such as those adopted by a national association.
ARTICLE VII. SECTION 1. IN CASE OF INTERACTION WITH MINORS AND/OR THE
ELDERLY
Master Baking at UCSD is aware that all registered student organizations that serve
minors or the elderly have access to training on child and elder abuse prevention for its
members via the Center for Student Involvement, online or in person (in person by
request only). Master Baking at UCSD will develop plan(s) for activities and events where
members will be interacting with minors or the elderly such that members will receive
education and/or training on Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA), common
sense measures to both avoid child or elder abuse allegations (i.e. avoiding one-on-one
situations; working with minors in plain view of others; limiting calls/texts/social media
posts or other communications with minors), and how to properly report potential harm
or neglect to minors or the elderly with whom they are working.

ARTICLE IX. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT


We will finance our organization with fundraising and baking sales. The organization's
earnings will be used to create baking supplies and equipment. The organization will
submit a ubdge to the A.S. or G.S.A finance commitee quarterly.

ARTICLE X. AFFILIATION WITH OTHER GROUPS


There is currently no group the organization will be affiliated with at the local, state,
national, or international level.
