Dear sixth-grader,

I hope you receive this letter filled with enthusiasm and excitement as you start your
first year of the IB PAI, Middle Years Programme (MYP). Congratulations on reaching this
important stage of school! I want to remind you of the importance of focusing and
managing your time well during your time in the program, especially as you prepare for the
IB Diploma.
In the coming years, you will face fun challenges and have new experiences that
will help you grow and develop important skills. The key to success in the MYP and the IB
Diploma is self-management. Self-management involves taking responsibility for your own
learning, setting clear goals, and consistently working towards them.
If you balance schoolwork, projects, and extracurricular activities, you will learn to
use your time correctly. Make the most of your time by creating regular study times and
prioritizing activities that help you achieve your academic goals. Remember, every minute
you dedicate to study is helpful for your future.
Time-management also entails developing organization skills. Make sure to keep an
updated calendar with all due dates, exams, and important dates. Use organization tools and
techniques that work for you, like lists, maps, or digital apps. Organization will allow you
to stay on top of assignments and avoid stress.
Besides, do not forget the importance of improving. Take the time to make your
own progress and learn from your successes and challenges. Identify areas where you need
improvement and seek opportunities for growing. Reflection and improvement will allow
you to achievable goals.
Remember dear student, that the MYP and the IB Diploma are more than just a set
of classes and work. They are an opportunity to develop critical thinking, problem-solving,
and good communication. Good management will help you face these challenges and reach
your full potential.
I am excited to see you on this journey and see how you grow and develop
throughout the program. Remember, I am always here to support and guide you. I wish you
great success in your MYP and Diploma Programme!

Sincerely,
Santiago Nates
