Section A: Questions 1 to 10 (5 marks each)

1) There is an arithmetic sequence ‘26, 34, 42, … , 626’, how many terms are there in this
arithmetic sequence?

2) Find the average of ‘24, 28, 29, 37, 46, 54, 63, 71, 72 and 76’.

If your answer is a fraction, its simplest form should be given, and make sure the answer is either a proper
fraction or a mixed fraction.
If your calculation result can be rationalized, you must rationalize the calculation result.
3) Ray is producing tablets by using powder A and powder B. The weights of the two powders
required were written in milligrams but marked wrongly by Ray. He mistakenly marked the
tens digit of the weight of powder A ‘1’ as ‘5’, and the units digit of the weight of powder B
‘6’ as ‘4’. Finally, the produced tablet weighs 65 milligrams. What is the weight of a tablet
produced with a correct formula?

4) The age of a father is 7 times of his daughter’s age, and the sum of their ages is 48. How
many years old was the father when his daughter was born?

If your answer is a fraction, its simplest form should be given, and make sure the answer is either a proper
fraction or a mixed fraction.
If your calculation result can be rationalized, you must rationalize the calculation result.
5) A drone spends 2 hours to travel 24 kilometres. What is its speed in metres per minute?

6) The product of two natural numbers is 2020, what is the least possible value of the sum of
these two numbers?

If your answer is a fraction, its simplest form should be given, and make sure the answer is either a proper
fraction or a mixed fraction.
If your calculation result can be rationalized, you must rationalize the calculation result.
7) 1 tree is planted every 2 metres on both sides of a road. Trees are planted at both ends. If
2020 trees were planted in total, how long is the road in metres?

8) There is a pyramid, its numbers of vertexes and edges add up to 82, what is the number of
vertexes of this pyramid?

If your answer is a fraction, its simplest form should be given, and make sure the answer is either a proper
fraction or a mixed fraction.
If your calculation result can be rationalized, you must rationalize the calculation result.
9) Find the remainder when 151994125773 is divided by 11.

10) How many different kinds of cuboids can be formed by using 16 cubes?
(If the number combinations of the length, width and height are the same, the cuboids will
be treated as the same. For example, 1,1,16 and 16,1,1 are treated as the same kind of
cuboids.)

If your answer is a fraction, its simplest form should be given, and make sure the answer is either a proper
fraction or a mixed fraction.
If your calculation result can be rationalized, you must rationalize the calculation result.
Section B: Questions 11 to 20 (7 marks each)

11) Find the value of 1930  1936  1942  1948  ...  2014  2020 .

12) Two construction companies A and B built a 12 kilometre-long bridge together to connect
the northern district and the southern district of a city. Company A built from the south to
the north, while company B built from the north to the south, and finally they finished the
bridge in 2 years. If company B constructed the bridge 40 metres more than company A each
month, how many metres of the bridge did company A construct each month?

If your answer is a fraction, its simplest form should be given, and make sure the answer is either a proper
fraction or a mixed fraction.
If your calculation result can be rationalized, you must rationalize the calculation result.
13) Each box of Vulcan sweets contains 3 candies and 5 chocolates, while each box of Poseidon
sweets contains 3 candies and 7 chocolates. Sally buys serval boxes of Vulcan sweets and
Poseidon sweets. If she gets total 156 candies and 322 chocolates, how many boxes of
Vulcan sweets does she buy?

14) In Chinese Primary School, every student should choose a class from Hamlet, Macbeth and
King Lear as an extracurricular activity. The number of students in Hamlet class is 2 times
of the number of students in Macbeth class, and the number of students in Macbeth class is
3 times of the number of students in King Lear class. If there are 960 students in the school,
how many students join the Macbeth class?

If your answer is a fraction, its simplest form should be given, and make sure the answer is either a proper
fraction or a mixed fraction.
If your calculation result can be rationalized, you must rationalize the calculation result.
15) Beck plants serval rows of trees on a rectangular land. The distances between every two
consecutive rows are all 3 metres, and the first row and the last row of trees are planted on
the opposite sides of the land. In each row, trees are planted from one end to another end,
and trees are planted every 4 metres in the rows. If 121 trees are planted, how many square
metres is the area of the land?

16) Find the remainder when a 6973-digit number “123456789101112…201820192020” is

fraction or a mixed fraction.
If your calculation result can be rationalized, you must rationalize the calculation result.
17) A large cube is formed by using 64 small cubes with the edge length of 1 centimetre. 17 of
the small cubes are black, while the others are white. On the large cube, at most how many
square centimetres of its surface area is black?

Question 19

If your answer is a fraction, its simplest form should be given, and make sure the answer is either a proper
fraction or a mixed fraction.
If your calculation result can be rationalized, you must rationalize the calculation result.
20) A teacher prepared 10 hats for 10 students and put one hat on each students’ head. The
students do not know the colour of their own hat, but they can see the colours of others’
hats. The following is the discussion between the teacher and the students.

Teacher said “There are four colours of hats, including red, blue, yellow and green. The
numbers of hats are different for different colours. Does anyone know the colour of your
own hat?”
Student 1 said “I know, it’s green.”
Student 2 said “I don’t know, but it should be blue or yellow.”
Student 3 said “Initially, I guessed my hat should be red or yellow, Now, I know my hat is
yellow.”

If the predictions of the three students are correct, then how many red, blue, yellow and
green hats are there?
