Do not stand below the red zone and mark the red zone area
with barricade/Caution tape.
Use SWA in case of anyone enter the area without
authorization.
Only certified crane operator to drive the crane.
Only certified banks man to give signals to the crane.
GRAVITY Gravity : Equipment or tools falling from the crane hook can hit someone, Personnel Ensure the crane is on flat area and land underneath is hard to
Step 2: EQUIPMENT injury, Swinging load can cause personnel injury ensure outriggers does not sink in ground SAID ZEGHIDI
Rigup Crane & Red Zone safety MACHINERY Equipment Machine Tools : Injury from handtools or crane movement to the Use of proper outriggers & base plate before lifting operations
TOOLS personnel begin
Ensure lift plan is done and crane operator is aware of the
heaviest lift.
Estimate the boom angle and maximum load during the rigup /
rigdown operations and ensure it does not exceed SWL of
crane boom.
Wear min required PPE on wellsite all times

Check the well head pressure on gauge and ensure pressure in

before rigup
Visual inspection of lifting equipment.
All slings & shackles have tags & properly maintained
Ensure safety pins installed in all shackles prior to rigup
Use tag lines and push pull sticks, NO HANDS ON LOAD
Gravity : Falling objects from elevator or upper sheave while rigged up
Step 4: GRAVITY personnel fall down while rigging up - Personnel injury Plan the lift and lift path before picking up the lift
Rigup Sheave/WPCE & PCE String ERGONOMICS Slip and trip while passing over hoses if attention not paid - personnel injury Do not lift more than 27 kg manual lifting & more than 81kg for SAID ZEGHIDI
3 person lifting. Use mechanical aid if weight of tool/PCE above
this.
Ensure the crane operator is following only banksman signal.
Do not stand under red zone.
Do not stand in line of fire
Use wheel dolly while rigging up the PCE
Wear min required PPE on wellsite all times

Check the condition of hand tools before use

Be aware of dropped objects area and red zone (changing)
GRAVITY
Use lubricator entry guide to avoid any dropped object
EQUIPMENT Gravity : Falling objects or tools while making up can cause injury, Pinch points on
Vertical makeup tools MACHINERY the plate and between tools and other equipment can cause personnel injury. incident SAID ZEGHIDI

Setup bleed line or stuffing box to have no pressure to allow air to
escap.
Do not stand in line of fire of pressure manifold and bleed port.
Check the gauge condition and needle valves are good.
Stored Energy : Leaks from well pressure or lubricator pressure can cause injury to Increase the pressure gradually in 500 psi and hold for 5 mins before
personnel. proceeding to next pressure up to maximum working pressure or crack
Step 5: Personnel standing in line of fire open the well head Upper Master valve and see if there is any pressure
Pressure testing STORED ENERGY Improper bleed off procedure increase if not then crack open the lower master valve and let the SAID ZEGHIDI
Use of expired equipment on location can cause pressure test failure and SITHP stabilize in PCE string, confirm no leaks for 10 mins, if any leaks
personnel/equipment damages close the both master valves quickly and bleed the pressure thru bleed
port
SWA in case of any leaks and bleed to retify the lead
Do not hammer to loose or tight any connection under pressure.
Ensure bleed line is properly secured and away from wind/well head
area
Wear min required PPE on wellsite all times
