INTRODUCTION
This chapter describes the riser card used in NLX PC cores and in
the ATX 70 PC core in NCR ATMs. There are three types of riser
card:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
NOTE: * On the NLX Compact Riser card the two shared ISA/PCI
slots can only be populated with either an ISA or a PCI plug-in
card per slot.

VOLTAGE REQUIREMENTS
The NLX Compact Riser card has the following voltage and current
requirements:
Supply Maximum
Limits
Voltage Current
+3.3 V ± 0.132 V 9.2 A
+5 V ± 0.25 V 16 A
+12 V ± 1.2 V 1.4 A
-12 V ± 1.2 V 0.2 A

ADJUSTMENTS
VR1 on the NLX riser card adjusts the beeper volume. Use the ATM
BEEPER test on either the S4 Diagnostic Test menu (See Chapter
4.3.11) or the Device Diagnostics/Monitor menu (Windows NT or
XP), to sound the beeper while adjusting VR1.

INTERNAL CABLES
Schematic diagrams of the logic cables between modules inside the
NLX PC Core are in chapter 6.2.25. This section shows pinouts of
the connectors on the riser card.
NOTE: Where a pin has multiple signal names (as for example, on
pin A6) this denotes the name of the signal on that pin in PCI
slot 1, slot 2, and slot 3. All PCI signals (except PCI Clocks) are
terminated with a 33 ohm resistor between the edge connector
and the first PCI slot.

CD AUDIO INTERFACE
A 4-way header connector J9 on the riser cards supports CD audio
input signals. The connector is numbered J9 on the NLX Compact
Riser and J4 on the NLX 70 Riser

MISCELLANEOUS INTERFACE
The 10-way header connector (J12 on the NLX Compact riser and
J8 on the NLX 70 Riser) provides a connection for miscellaneous
signals. These signals are taken to the SSPA board (connector J1)
in high end systems and to the PELE Motherboard (connector JP8)
in low end systems).

SUPPLEMENTAL CONNECTOR
The supplemental connector (J10 on the NLX Compact Riser Card
and J1 on the NLX 70 Riser Card) provides a means of connecting
CD audio from the CD ROM to the motherboard. The connector is a
26-way edge card connector with the following pinout:
