What is APA and MLA?
APA and MLA are both citation styles used in academic writing to provide proper
attribution to sources used in research papers and other academic works.

APA (American Psychological Association) is a citation style commonly used in

the social sciences, such as psychology, sociology, and education. APA style
emphasizes author-date citations, meaning that the author's last name and the year
of publication are included in the in-text citation. APA also includes a reference
list at the end of the paper that lists all the sources cited in the text.

MLA (Modern Language Association) is a citation style commonly used in the

humanities, such as English, literature, and cultural studies. MLA style uses
parenthetical citations, meaning that the author's last name and the page number
are included in the in-text citation. MLA also includes a works cited list at the end
of the paper that lists all the sources cited in the text.

Both APA and MLA have their own set of rules and guidelines for formatting,
citing sources, and referencing them in a bibliography or reference list. It's
important to use the appropriate citation style for your discipline and to follow the
guidelines carefully to ensure proper attribution and avoid plagiarism.
