1. The first thing we discussed in class was the core concept model.
It was majorly in line with the vision success model, telling us that a need is fulfilled
by solution via stakeholders, value and context.

2. Next, we discussed was the Knowledge areas from BABOK with acronym as
“PLEASE”
Starting with
 Business analysis, planning and monitoring
 Requirement Life cycle management
 Elicitation and collaboration
 Requirement Analysis and Design Definition
 Strategy analysis
 Solution Evaluation

Each K.A pertains to different Tasks.


These tasks are based on purpose, description. Input. Element, guidelines,
techniques, stakeholders and output.

4. Then we discussed the first K.A i.e., Business analysis, planning and monitoring
Here we need to consider the approach when making decision regarding tasks,
techniques, risks, etc.
Now there are 5 tasks under this K.A which are:
 Plan Business Analysis approach
 Plan stakeholders’ engagement
 Plan BA Governance
 Plan BA Information Management
 Plan BA Performance improvement

5. Task 1: Plan Business Analysis approach- The purpose of this task is to define an
appropriate method to conduct BA Activities.
Basically, a comparison between traditional and Agile Approach.
Types of Approach would include Agile, Waterfall, Lean and Six Sigma. These are
decided on the basis fo Needs, Objectives, Standards and Project Approach.

6. A video about the 9/11 attacks was also shown to make us understand the importance
of approach and planning.
