1. Reading the story

p. 2 What do you think his idea is?

We have some clues up here. What do you see? – A pizza, a light bulb and maybe a party
with some balloons.

p. 3 Look here! Pete made an invitation. And he wrote on the invitation: “You are invited to
Pete’s pizza party”.

p. 4 Do you see all his friends? – There are Gus, Callie, Squirrel, Grumpy Toad and Alligator.

p. 5 Look, they play “pin the tail on the unicorn”!

p. 6 So, Callie really likes pretzels. Can you say “pretzels”?

Look at the pizza. Now it’s going to be pepperoni, cheese and pretzels.

p. 7 What are they doing? Where are they at? – They are in a pool.

All of them have floaties with different designs. Gus has pool float like a shark. Pete has …
Great observation!

p. 8 Do you like pistachios? Now, do you remember first three ingredients? – They are cheese,
pepperoni and pretzels.

p. 9 What are the characters doing? – They’re playing some instruments and dancing.

p. 10 Do you like pickles? So, now we have five ingredients. Do you remember them? -
Number one was cheese, number two was pepperoni, number three - pretzels, number four
– pistachios and now pickles.

p. 11 What are they doing? – They’re playing some throwing game.

p. 12 Do you like popcorn? Look at all the ingredients here!

p. 13 Where are the characters on? – They are on a bus.

What are they holding? – They are holding the balloons. Can you say the colors of the
balloons? – This color is blue…

p. 14 Can you say “papaya”? Did you try it?

p. 15 Where are the characters? What is that? – It’s a bounce house.

Do you think they have fun?

p. 16 Do you see the pizza? Is it big or small? – It’s a really big pizza!

p. 17 Look, all of them grab the slice! How do you think it taste like?

2. Pin the tail

Let’s play “pin the tail on the unicorn”.

You’ll be a “pinner”. I’ll cover your eyes with cloth.

First, stand one/two meter away from the unicorn poster.

I spin you around 3 times

I point you in the right direction. You should stick the tail where you think it belongs on
the unicorn.

Now, watch where the tail ends up!

4. Pizza Fraction

A pizza looks like a circle. It is a whole pizza. We can divide this pizza into equal parts.
A fraction means a part. So, fraction is the part of a whole object.

When an object as a whole is divided into two parts, there are two possibilities.
The parts may be equal or unequal. Each equal part of a whole is called one-half.
It is expressed as 1/2 and read as one over two or one upon two.
This pizza has been divided into 2 equal parts. Each equal part is called half.

This pizza has been divided into 4 equal parts.

Each equal part is called one-fourth or a quarter of the whole pizza.
Thus, any whole can be divided into four equal parts and each part is one-fourth or a
quarter of the whole.
It is expressed as 1/4 and read as one over four or one upon four.

This pizza has been divided into 3 equal parts.

If a pizza is divided into three equal parts, each part is called one-third of the whole
pizza. One third is represented by 1/3 or, one upon three or, one three.

5. Build your own P-pizza
P-pizza.

Many of favorite foods start with the letter "p"! Can you name them?
Let’s make our own P-pizza!

The perfect P-pizza would be with pears!

Pears would be just fine. But I really love PASTA on mine!

Filled with vegetables and meat. (rub tummy)
It’s a pizza cooked just right.
Are you ready? Have a bite! (pretend to eat pizza)
It’s a pizza treat!
