Introduction

T
he Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector has
been the key focus of policymakers from the central
government and state governments as it is very important
for overall economic growth and development in terms of
employment, value chain creation, foreign exchange earnings,
support to large industries, promotion of regional balance and
inclusive development etc. MSMEs contribute around 30 per cent
to India's GDP, employ about 11 crore people, constitute nearly 40
per cent of total exports, and more than half of them are located in
rural India. Keeping in mind the contribution and significance of the
MSME industries to overall economic growth and development
governments are focusing on the revival of this sector to achieve inclusive
growth thereby attaining self-reliance (Aatmanirbhar Bharat).

Considering the significance of MSMEs' in the Indian Economy, ASSOCHAM has been working closely with
industries and government at the State and Centre levels to the revival of MSMEs' and also provide
handholding to the MSMEs'. ASSOCHAM has planned a series of interactions with MSMEs, industry and
policymakers to promote MSMEs' competitiveness across India. On the occasion of World MSME Day, we
have scheduled two days MSME Sammelan on 27th and 28th June 2023 at Lucknow.

ttar Pradesh MSME Sammelan is a platform which provides opportunity to engage wide
spectrum of experts from industries, policymakers, PSUs, State bodies, Export promotion
councils, Development institutions, Financial institutions, etc. The Sammelan hosted many
dignitaries in the past including Hon'ble Chief Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Last Edition of Uttar Pradesh: MSME Sammelan 2022 held on 27th and 28th June 2022 at Hyatt
Regency Lucknow which was one of the best ASSOCHAM Uttar Pradesh MSME Sammelan. We are
fortunate to host many dignitaries from industry, state government and central government.
