NARRATIVE REPORT ON EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

LAST 22ND DAY OF APRIL 2022

Earth day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22. It was first celebrated in 1970, and
is now coordinated globally by the Earth-Day-Network and being celebrated in more than 193
countries each year. The Catabadan Elementary school teachers together with the selected
pupils participated in the said event last April 22, 2022. At first, Mrs. Maghari a Grade II adviser,
delivered a short trivia on the importance of the Earth Day Celebration. Why does Filipinos
celebrate this kind of event? How important is taking care of our earth? Why do we get
ourselves involved in the said celebration? Those are just some of the trivia that Mrs. Maghari
shared to the pupils.

At around 9:00 am, while the sun is not too hot, the weather is so good to be out of the
school, teachers together with the selected pupils conducted a community clean up drive
covering the inside of the campus and other public places in the community like the Catabadan
main roads, Catabadan mini gymnasium, and some of the community’s waiting shed were also
being cleaned. Of course while doing the said drive, pupils and teachers were wearing their
safety face masks.

After the community clean up drive, pupils are instructed to wash their hands before
getting inside to their respective classrooms followed by the teachers who also washed their
hands after the event. The said activity ended by the teacher’s turning off their phones at
around 9:30 am following the celebration of the NATIONAL EARTH DAY.
