There aren’t many things that keep me awake at night,
just some family things. For example, I was concerned
recently when my sister had to have an operation, but
she’s fully recovered now. My mum is still fit and well,
in fact she’ll probably live longer than me! Then there
are global issues, such as climate change and wars, but I
think it’s better to be active than just think about things.
I’m a member of two campaign groups and I’m always
emailing my local politicians about certain issues.
5
I think I can be a bit too cautious. Once I take a chance
and try something new, I usually enjoy it, but it often
takes me a while before I’m confident enough. So, I
think if there’s one thing I’d like to be, it’s a bit more
adventurous. Some opportunities don’t come around
too often, so you need to take them when they’re in
front of you.
6
I grew up in a poor part of Manchester with just my
mum and sister, and life could be hard at times. Don’t
misunderstand me, I’m not complaining, I had a
wonderful childhood. We didn’t have a lot of money,
but my mum taught my sister and me the value of things
that matter – family, friends and being honest with
yourself. So, I think I’d have to answer ‘no’ to this
question. People might recognise me from the TV, or
news perhaps, but my perspective on life is the same.
