KINDS OF BANDAGES DESCRIPTIONS
Triangular Scalp or
Forehead Bandage

 This style of bandaging is used to


hold dressings on the forehead or
Triangular Arm Sling
scalp. This bandaging is ideal for  ideal to support fractures or
Major Scalp injuries or non-stop injuries in the hand, wrist, and
bleeding and is useful for forearm. This allows broken bones
emergency situations. in the arm to heal by holding them
in place for a while, until they get
the proper treatment or an advice
from the doctor to remove it.

Chest Seals
 This bandage is used to hold
dressings on burns or wounds
on the chest, back, or in the
abdomen. This can help
prevents bleeding and help
cover the wound until it heals.

Cravat of Knee

 Used to hold dressing around


the knee.

Anchor Bandage (Roller
Bandage)
 Used to anchor (secure) the roller
bandage when beginning other
wrappings. a. Lay the end of the
bandage on the bottom of the limb to
be wrapped and at an angle so one
corner (apex) of the bandage will not be
covered when the bandage is brought
around the limb.

Spiral Bandage
 used for cylindrical parts of the
body. An elasticated bandage can
also be used to apply spiral
bandaging to a tapered body part.
Despite the increasing diameter of
the body part, the elasticity will
allow the bandage to fit closely to
the skin.

Recurrent Bandage
 Reverse spiral bandage is a spiral
bandage where the bandage is folded
back on itself by 180° after each turn.
This V-shaped fold allows the bandage
to fit to the tapered shape of the body
part all the way along. This type of
bandaging is required when using
non-elasticated bandages.

Tailed Bandage of the


Scalp
 Used for holding a dressing on
the scalp, side of the head or the
back of the head.

 Used to hold dressing on
the eye.

Circular Bandage

 Is used to cover cylindrical


parts and to anchor
bandages that is
terminated and secured.
