When we go shopping, we get a plastic bag to carry the items we buy. When we go to friend’s or
relative’s house and we want to give/her items, we use a plastic bag to carry them. However,
they are dangerous for environment and human beings.
Firstly, plastic bags need a long time to decompose. Plastic bags take up to 1000 years to
decompose on land and 450 years in water.
Secondly, people use up natural resources to make plastic bags. The most common plastic
bags you see today are made of polyethylene. This material is made of crude oil and natural gas.
Moreover, they harm wildlife and marine life. Plastic bags are now ubiquitous in our
environment, and animals both on land and in water are being strangled, choked and killed by
them. Plastic bags are now the fifth most common debris item found on beaches.
Plastic bags are also dangerous for our health. Coloured plastic bags are very dangerous for
health if we use them to keep food because they are recycled products and their previous history
is not known. They may have been used to carry in pesticide containers, hospital waste or heavy
metals waste. Long-term consequences of the use of these plastic bags can lead to various
diseases such as cancer, kidney disorders and others.
Based on the facts, plastic bags should not be used anymore. There are several alternatives to
replace their functions, such as paper bags or reusable canvas bags.

Dear Sir/Madam
I read the Kabari Post dated March 19 th, which stated that your company needs a finance
manager. I graduated from a reputable university in Jakarta and I am a bachelor’s degree by the
Economics Faculty. I believe that my educational background is suitable for the position.
I am hard working and will always be responsible for my job. Since I graduated from
university, I have had many work experiences, from general manager staff to finance manager
for three years in a construction company in Jakarta. However, I have to move here due to my
marriage.
I have enclosed my curriculum vitae and I would welcome an interview with you. I am
ready for the interview anytime. Thank you for your consideration.
Your sincerely,

Dear Samara,
On my last school holiday, my classmates and I went to Borobudur. The Borobudur temple
is really magnificent. The giant temple really impressed me. How could our ancestor build such a
big temple? It was amazing.
In the temple, we went upstairs step by step. Walking around the temple, we saw many
reliefs on the temple walls. Some foreigners seemed interested in them. I heard their
conversation with the guide. Actually the relief tells a story.
It was really a nice experienced. I hope you can go there someday.
Love,
Patricia
