According to the Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) 2010 Guidelines, SureContact® Handrails have an antimicrobial finish that inhibits the

The Facility
The $1 billion facility consists of three sectors: the 700-bed general hospital, the 400-
bed community hospital and a medical center. The hospital is the first in Singapore
designed and built from the ground up as an integrated development for better patient
care, greater efficiency and convenience. The design was planned so that patient care,
treatment and rehabilitation would continue seamlessly between the hospitals.
IPC® Products Used

Link bridges connect each of the hospitals for contamination containment. For instance, if
there was an outbreak in one unit, the bridge could be closed off allowing for continued
care in the other two sectors. The bridge project included a total of 2.6 miles (4200m) of
G2 BioBlend® 3500WV handrail.

The Project
The tragic tornado of 2011 still resonates in Joplin, Missouri. And the new 809,000
sq. ft. 205-room Mercy Hospital Joplin incorporates many resiliency elements to
help withstand another natural disaster. Critical parts of the facility have windows
rated for 250 MPH winds. The central utility plant was built halfway below ground
to limit exposure. The main buildings consist of a nine-story hospital patient
tower and five-story clinic tower. The ground-up project was completed in an
unprecedented 46 months.
Inpro Products Used

Throughout the facility, an extensive array of IPC® Door + Wall Protection products
were installed, including IPC® Rigid Sheet, Corner Guards, Handrails, Chair Rails and
Endwall Protectors.
In addition, Clickeze® Optitrac® Privacy Curtain Track was specified throughout the
new hospital.
