Koba Elipsa 2E: It compares very well to the kindle, it has a very large screen with sharp contrasts. It also has
adjustable color temperature in order to make it easier to look at in certain se ngs. The major thing it has on the
kindle is that it has a stylus which allows for note taking. But expor ng the notes can be chunky and it has a sort o

Ques on 2: What is the name of this eBook reader? How does it compare to the other one?

Nook GlowLight 4: Its the best overall nook you can buy since its far cheaper than the other one, By almost 250
dollars. This nook is incredibly small and light and has built in page turning bu ons. Its major downsides though is
that its screen is pre y small and it isn’t water proof. It also doesn’t have a stylus to allow for notes like the other
one.

The Kindle eBook Reader allows users to purchase and download books directly to the device. Before a customer

feature.

When the user launches the applica on, the applica on scans the user’s face and uses facial recogni on so ware
to determine the user’s iden ty. Once the user has been iden ed, the user’s personal preferences are applied to
whatever book or ar cle the user chooses to read.

Ques on 3: Who would bene t from the Kindle's text-to-speech feature? Why?

People who would bene t from the Kindles text to speech feature are the visually impaired. Reading o a
completely at screen would be really di cult for people who can’t see very well. It also prohibits the use of brail
so people who are completely blind wouldn’t be able to read either. The text to speech feature allows those who
can’t see the kindle well to s ll enjoy there books.

Ques on 4: Explain how the app developer could nd the informa on stored in this database useful in improving
the Kindle app? How could machine learning factor into this?

They could nd the se ngs that are most typically used in the app and focus more onto those when developing
the next kindle. Since most of the me people are using the same se ngs when using a product. Its very rare that
someone has en rely di erent se ngs. By knowing what is used they can focus more of there me and money
into the things that are actually used. Machine learning could factor into this because it could go through all the
data and tell you what needs to be improved or what is being used. Saving human me from having to look
through all the data.

Ques on 5: This eBook reader uses facial recogni on to authen cate. What are the poten al bene ts of using
technologies like Face ID to "unlock" and purchase items? Find a poten al harm of facial recogni on so ware.
Back up your claims by ci ng news ar cles on the Internet with links.

The bene ts of it are convenience, no one in reality wants to type there passwords in over and over again when
they could just show there face and there into the device. It just makes doing things a lot faster and easier. Its also
helpful for people who tend to forget passwords easily since there passwords is just a ached to their body. The
dangers of it though is that its far easier to break into than a regular password. Research has shown the high tech
nger print copies and even just plain pictures o peoples faces have been able to break into peoples devices.
