How will the learning environment be set up?

We will use the rug area for whole group- song, story and hand motions.
The centers will be used for rest of learning: art center for stamping, music center for rainstick,
library/book area for iPads and other books.

Instruc onal Procedures:

Day 1:
I will begin by showing the ebook of the Itsy Bitsy Spider on the iPad.
I will then demonstrate the hand mo ons to the song.
I will ask the children to model a er me.
I will introduce the rains ck and talk about rain brie y and show them where the rains ck will be.
During this me the students will be with me on the rug area. My hopes is that they can sit and listen to the book and
learn some hand mo ons but not expec ng mastery.
We will break for center me and I will be parked in the book/library area for anyone wanted to con nue watching the
book.
The co-teacher will be assis ng students around the room.

Day 2:
Now that we have been introduced in small increments to the basic understanding of the story- We will prac ce it
again in big group me not he rug. I will remind them a er about the rain s ck and show them videos of rain on the
iPad.
We will break for center me and I will help students on the iPads again while my co-teacher assists students around
the room.

I will review the rain s ck and rain sounds on the iPad in the music center.

the book/library area.
I will help students on iPads and my co-teacher will be assis ng students around the room.

Day 4:
We will review the mo ons to the Itsy Bitsy Spider and I am hopeful they will begin to know more mo ons on their

We will break for all centers that will remain the same: rains ck, rain video, spider images, spider books.
I will assist all iPads and my co-teacher will roam room helping students in needs.

Day 5:
In whole group we will review the song one more me. Today I will introduce the spider stamps and stamping onto an
image of a faucet. I will put the stamp art in the art center. As the children stamp, my goal is for them to either say/sing
or repeat the story/song. This will demonstrate Standard 2.
We will break for centers that have remained the same all week but now adding the art center. I will be int he art
center and plan on annota ng their words about the story onto their artwork. These annota ons will be the evidence
of their basic understanding of the story/song.
My co-teacher will roam the room helping with iPads today.
