Bloom’s Taxonomy Level(s):

x Remembering x Understanding ☐ Applying ☐ Analyzing ☐ Evalua ng ☐ Crea ng

Levels of Technology Integra on:

X Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the ac vity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☐ Integra on Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/ac vi es reach this level. The project is student-driven.
Students have “Voice and Choice” in the ac vi es, selec ng the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promo ng authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning newscast,
pos ng the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Goal: The students should be able to rehearse the alphabet and recognize the le ers of the alphabet.
Lesson idea and implementa on: The students will follow along with the video and call out the names of the
animals as they hear them. They can also try to guess what animal will be said in the following slide for each
le er. I will project this powerpoint on the board so the class can see it and I will rst start by rehearsing the
ABC’s with the students. I will also have the students call out the le ers that they see on each slide. I will
observe the class to see who is following along and can iden fy the le ers of the alphabet as they are
displayed. I will conclude the lesson by asking the students which animal from the lesson was their favorite
and allow them to all chime in. I will also ask them what le er their favorite animal starts with. I will help the
students if they do not know the le er for their favorite animal. It should be recorded if a student seems to
have issues iden fying the le ers.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): This tool has sub tles, words on the board, and a voice over for students
who may have sight or hearing impairments. This lesson allows students to see di erent animals and connect
the le ers of the alphabet to new animals and some of their favorite animals. This tool will engage students
because they will be calling out the le ers, the animals, and trying to guess which animal will show up next.

Re ec ve Prac ce: I feel that this lesson will help connect an important standard to animals, something that
many children love. By connec ng the two it can help engage the students and create a more posi ve
environment. It will make the children more interested in learning. Some children may get distracted or may
not like animals, by encouraging them to par cipate and trying to get them to guess the animals that will
appear.
