Q1 (a) The literary Association of your school is organizing a poetry competition. Write a notice to be put up in
your school inviting students of class VIII to X to register their names for the competition to be held on the
occasion of Children’s Day in your school.

All the interested pupils from classes VIII to X can register their names for the Tagore Poetry Competition, which
is held on the occasion of Children’s Day celebration in the school. Participants are requested to give their names
to Madam Agamani Gupta teacher in charge of the literary competitions 30th June during the activities period.
Selected students will participate on the final day. We look forward for maximum participation of pupils to
showcase their creative talents in reciting poetry. [1mk]

(b) Write an email to the principal of the neighboring school requesting him to send two senior teachers of his
school to judge the poetry recitation competition.

Our school St. Joseph’s convent HSS is celebrating the Children’s Day week. On 3rd July we are hosting the ‘Tagore’s
Poetry Competition for our students from 10am to 12noon, at the centenary hall of our school.

I request you humbly to kindly send two senior English teachers from your academy to judge our creative
participants during the poetry competition. This is to avoid biased marking and to deliver a fair judgement to our
budding participants. Our pupils will perform better in the presence of your faculty members.
