The prayer asks God for guidance and strength as a new academic year begins. It asks God to remind students of Jesus's call to serve others, and to open their hearts and minds. It also asks God to fill students with excitement, calm worries, help them make friends, and build relationships. Finally, the prayer asks God to renew strength in families and bless all school staff through the challenges ahead.

Let us bow our heads and feel the presence of our lord, in the name of
the father, and of the son, and of the holy spirit amen.
Heavenly Father, Today, as we take the first small step on the
road of the new academic year, remind us of Jesus’s call for us to wash each other’s feet. As we grow together on this path, may we cast aside our pride and open our hearts and minds to you. We give you our hopes, worries and fears as our lovely child starts new academic year. We pray that you would fill their hearts with excitement and calm their worries with your love. Please go before them, help them make friends, enjoy the activities and build relationships with their teachers and carers. May we learn to entrust them each day into your care, and as we do may they grow in confidence and independence. Father, Renew our strength, that we may persevere through obstacles that we will surely encounter. Bless all of our teachers, administrators, support staff and all of our families. In Jesus name. Amen. In the name of the father, and of the son, and of the holy spirit amen.
