➢ ICAO Council (Part III) in 1962, 1968-2001
➢ Not re-elected in 2001, 2004, 2007, 2013 and 2016.

• Indonesia’s Flight Information Region (FIR) is comparable to 25 FIRs of European Countries
• The 8th largest air transport market or air passengers carried include both domestic and international
aircraft passengers of air carriers registered in the country.
• Controls 4 out of 9 Regional Air Traffic Flows(45%)
• 265 airports, including 29 airports serving international flights.
• Strong adherence to ICAO SARPs
• Strong commitment to support ICAO’s strategic objectives.

➢ Each regional commissions compiles a list of States. The lists are coordinated with the other
regional commissions. The commissions recommends their members to vote based on the
exchanged list. Most states members of a regional commission follow the recommendation.

Sufficient support from the regional commissions is the most essential factor for being
elected
