Master Switch

• The master switch is a two position rotary

type switch that is located on the right-hand
side of the plant on the engine housing.
When the switch is in the “Off” position the
battery is disconnected from the rest of the
plant electrical system including the engine.

• Also, the off position is designed to allow

you to employ a lockout/tagout device.
When starting the plant make sure the
master switch is in the “On” position.

Warning:
Do not turn off master switch until at least 20 seconds has
elapsed.
Pin 72 on ECU is grounded after shut off to write fault
codes for 15 – 20 sec
An eprom access error will occur if you were to shut it off
with the master switch
It is important the ECU is able to ground Pin 72 for 15 – 20
secs

Tracking Remote (option)

• The radio control unit consists of a

receiver and a hand-held, battery
powered radio control unit.
• It is fitted to track machines as an
option.

• On some earlier powerscreen

machines a Switch was fitted to
the track junction box.
• This switch was used to select
between manual and remote
tracking.
Controls
Emergency Stops

• There are 7 emergency stops

fitted to the machine including
the tracking doglead.
• The emergency stops are
activated by pushing the e stop
button in.
• Twist to deactivate the
emergency stop.

Indicators
• The H6203 has following
Indicators.
– Hour Meter
– Battery Charge,
– Machine Stops OK,
– Track Dog Lead Stop OK
– Air filter blocked
– Fuel contamination air filter
blocked,
– Coolant level/Temp
– Low oil pressure
– ECU warning
– Hydraulic oil level gauge
– Hydraulic oil filter restriction
indicator
– Fuel gauge.
Indicators
Hour Clock

• This records the number of

hours that the engine has been
running
Indicators (Deutz)
Battery Charge Warning Light
• This light should illuminate
when the key switch is turned
to the On position. As soon as
the engine starts it should go
out. If it fails to illuminate when
the key is turned on, or if it
illuminates when the engine is
running, it indicates that there
is a fault in the charging circuit.
Stop the engine and have the
circuit checked.
Indicators
Engine Run Lights

• This light will only illuminate

when the key is turned to the
ON position and will remain on
at all times. If it goes out then
an E-Stop has been pressed
on the machine chassis and
the engine will shut down
immediately.
Indicators
Engine Run Lights

• This light will only illuminate

when the key is turned to the
ON position and will remain on
at all times. If it goes out then
the E-Stop has been pressed
on the doglead and the engine
will shut down immediately.
Indicators
Hydraulic Oil Level Warning Light

• This light will only illuminate if

the hydraulic oil level is low.
The engine will shut down 5
seconds after the fault has
been detected.
Indicators
Fuel Contamination/Air Breather Restriction Indicator

• FUEL CONTAMINATION
• This light illuminates if a problem
occurs in the fuel system, such as
water contamination. The engine will
shut down 1 second after the fault has
been detected

• AIR BREATHER RESTRICTION

• This light should illuminate if a problem
occurs in the air breather system. If
the AIRFILTEROVERRIDE link on the
main control panel is in, then the light
will remain on continuously until the
fault has been repaired. If the
AIRFILTER OVERRIDE link is out and
it continues to receive a fault signal,
the light will remain on for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes the engine will shut
down but the light will remain on until
the fault has been repaired.
Indicators
Coolant Level/Temperature

• This light will only illuminate if

a problem occurs in the
coolant system, such as low
water level. The engine will
shut down 5 seconds after the
fault has been detected
Indicators
Oil Pressure Warning Light

• This light should illuminate

when the key switch is turned
to the ON position. As soon as
the engine starts it should go
out. If a fault occurs in the oil
pressure system the engine
will shutdown after 2 seconds
Indicators
Deutz Diagnostic Light

• This light will illuminate if the is

a Deutz ECU actuator/sensor
active engine fault.
• This light will only flash Deutz
diagnostic codes when the
maintenance button on the
control panel is pressed in the
event of any active engine
fault.
• Open the panel.
• Press and hold the
maintenance clear switch for
two to five seconds.

• This will cause the ECU

warning lamp to start flashing
out a fault code.
Indicators (CAT)
Engine Pre-Heater Indicator

• This light only illuminates when

the ignition key switch is
switched on, the engine ECU
will monitor the coolant
temperature and the inlet air
temperature and decide
whether the glow plugs are
required.
Indicators (CAT)
CAT ECU Warning Lamp
• This light will only illuminate
when the Caterpillar engine
control unit detects a problem.
This can result in an engine
shut down. In the event of a
fault causing this light to
illuminate you should contact
your local Caterpillar dealer for
further information.
Indicators (CAT)
CAT Warning Lamp

• This light will only illuminate

when the Caterpillar engine or
Caterpillar component has
developed a problem. This can
result in an engine shut down.
In the event of a fault causing
this light to illuminate you
should contact your local
Caterpillar dealer for further
information.

Starting the Engine
A
• To start the engine, turn the ignition key to
the on position as shown at (B).
• At this point the self test sequence will
commence. After the test sequence has
finished all the lamps go out except for those
shown on in the LED Display
• Turn the ignition key to the start position as
shown at (C). Hold the key in this position
for 10 seconds until the engine cranks and
B runs. During this 10 second start delay the
siren and flashing beacon will operate.
• The ignition key will return to the on position
when the key is released.. As soon as the
engine has started only the engine run lights
will be illuminated when the engine is
running.
• If any other lights are illuminated when the
egine is running this indicates a fault.
• To stop the engines, return the key to it’s
nuetral position. As shown at (A)
• Test emergency stop switches located on
plant sides and the tracking doglead.
