(8) BRAKE FLUID LEVEL INSPECTION
Insufficient brake fluid may let air enter the brake
system, possibly causing the brakes to become
ineffective. Before riding, check that the brake fluid is
above the lower level and replenish when necessary.
Observe these precautions
When checking the fluid level, make sure the top of
the master cylinder is level by turning the
handlebars.
Use only the designated quality brake fluid.
Otherwise, the rubber seals may deteriorate, Lower level
causing leakage and poor brake performance.
Refill with the same type of brake fluid. Mixing fluids
may result in a harmful chemical reaction and lead to
poor brake performance.
Be careful that water doesn’t enter the master
cylinder when refilling. Water will significantly lower
the boiling point of the fluid and may result in vapor
lock.
Brake fluid may deteriorate painted surfaces or
plastic parts. Always clean up spilled fluid
immediately.
Recommended brake fluid:

(9) BRAKE PAD WEAR
Brake pad wear depends upon the severity of usage, the
type of riding, and road conditions. (Generally, the pads
will wear faster on wet and dirty roads.)
Inspect the pads at each regular maintenance interval
(page 39).

Front/Rear Brake
Check the wear indicator mark on each pad. If either
pad is worn to the wear indicator mark, replace both
pads as a set. See your authorized KYMCO dealer for <Front Brake> Wear indicator mark

5 To accelerate, open the throttle gradually; the
scooter will move forward.
6 To decelerate, close throttle.

OPEN CLOSED

7 When slowing down the scooter, coodination of the

throttle and front and rear brakes is most important.

CAUTION
Both front and rear brakes should be applied
together. Independent use of only the front or rear
brake reduces stopping performance. Excessive
brake application may cause either wheel to lock,
reducing control of the scooter.

8 When approaching a corner or turn, close the throttle
fully, and slow the scooter down by applying both
front and rear brakes at the same time.

cautions.

CAUTION
When riding in wet or rainy conditions or on loose
surfaces, the ability to maneuver and stop will be
reduced.

7. PARKING
After stopping the scooter turn the ignition switch to
the position and remove the key.
Use the center stand to support the scooter while
parked.

CAUTION
Park the scooter on firm, level ground to prevent it
from falling over.

Lock the steering to prevent theft. ( page 8~9 )

CAUTION
Always lock the steering and never leave the key in
the ignition switch. This sounds simple but people
forget easily.

8. MAINTENANCE
The Required Maintenance Schedule specifies how often you should have your scooter served, and what
things need attention. It is essential that your scooter be served as scheduled to retain its high level of safety,
dependability, and emission control performance.

These instructions are based on the assumption that the scooter will be used exclusively for its designed
purpose. Sustained high speed operation, or operation in unusually wet or dusty conditions, will require more
frequent service than specified in the MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE. Consult your authorized KYMCO dealer
for recommendations applicable to your individual needs and use.

CAUTION
If your scooter is overturned or involved in a collision, inspect control levers and cables, brake
hoses, calipers, accessories and other vital parts for damage. Don’t ride the scooter if damage
impairs safe operation. Have your authorized KYMCO dealer inspect the major components
including frame, suspension, and steering parts for misalignment and damage that you may not be
able to detect.
Stop the engine and support the scooter securely on a firm, level surface before performing any
maintenance.
Use new, genuine KYMCO parts or their equivalent for maintenance and repair. Parts which are not of
equivalent quality may impair the safety of your scooter.

wire brush.
Check the spark plug gap using a wire-type feeler Side electrode
gauge. If adjustment is necessary, bend the side
electrode carefully.
The gap should be:
