Filipino Family Values

Paggalang
- Filipinos hold elders in the highest regard and respect their
authority. The respect that the younger generation has for the
elderly is a symbol of the knowledge gained through life
experiences and the obligation of gratitude they owe to them.
Filipinos use hand gestures like pagmamano and words like "po"
and "opo" to express their affection and respect. Because of
this, Filipinos show their care and compassion for the elderly as
a sign of their feeling of duty to their families by taking care
of their elders.

Pagpapahalaga sa pamilya
- One develops a strong connection through their family because
they form bonds that have a profound impact on them. The
solidarity and closeness of the Filipino family are established

cultural traits, which place a high importance on harmony and
interdependence and strengthen their sense of community.
Filipinos' religious commitment has also influenced how highly
they regard the sacredness of family life.

Pakikisama
- Filipinos typically are friendly and like interacting with
others. Strangers frequently engage in discussion with one
another or tell relatives, friends, or foreigners about their
hometowns, families, or nations. Filipinos frequently express
themselves and feel deeply while yet being humorous.

Filipino Traits
Generosity and Helpfulness
- One of the Filipino customs that really exemplifies generosity
helpfulness and community spirit is the bayanihan. With each
individual endeavor, it is where joint undertaking occurs. It is
the practice of collaborating. It is a deed of generosity
performed without anticipating or requesting anything in return.
To achieve a common objective, everyone contributes and supports
one another.
