Back to School Activities:

Day Activities

Day 1: Aug 1, 2024 Activity 1: (Warming up the class’s environment)

It is the first day of school and they require time to get comfortable in the class
environment. To make environment congenial and conducive, teacher will assign
students with specific tasks to boost up their adaptability in the class environment.
For Example:
Few students will be assigned to perform task of setting up the Soft Board.
Some students will do the cleaning and dusting of the class.
Few students will clear up the black/white board.
Few students will organize the chairs and other messed up things of the classroom.

Requirement: Cleaning and dusting rag, Chart papers, scissors, dusters, Dust bin,
Plastic bags, Chalk/Marker.

Activity 2: (Sprint Reading)

Sprint reading is a period of time (10-20 minutes) where students


will focus on reading as many pages while they can and still
comprehend the text. Students will be provided a reading note and they
all will be required to read that material in a given time. All students will
then give presentation to display what they understood from the given
notes. This activity will boost their reading span as well as retention
ability.

Requirements: Reading Notes, Pencil, a notebook.

Activity 3: (Sprint Writing)

A writing sprint is a nonstop writing session constrained to a limited amount of time—
usually a time limit between five and sixty minutes. Students are required to write as
many words as possible without stopping to edit or evaluate their work on the topic of
their own choice. After completing it, they will give the title to their written work and
write the word count. This activity will boost their cognitive skills as well as enhance
their creative writing.

Requirements: Pencil and a notebook.


Day Activities

Day 2: Aug 2, 2024. Activity 1: (Summing up the vacations)

This activity will enhance the self-confidence of students as it will require them to
share their most valuable memories from the vacations in front of everyone. This
can also spark conversation and help students connect with each other’s
experiences. This activity is valuable in terms of developing understanding among
the students.

Requirement: They will be required to bring any tangible item related to their
memories made during the vacations in order to support their speech.

Activity 2: (Sketching your thoughts out)

This activity will enhance creativity, innovation, and ingenuity of the students. It
will strengthen their cognitive skills as they will be required to sketch whatever
they have in mind. Students can also express their vacation experiences through
art or craft. For example, they can create collages, drawings, or paintings inspired
by their experiences during their vacations.

Requirement: Pencil, colors, Drawing sheets.

Activity 3: (Whoever sensed it first)

The students will be required to visit every corner of the school and observe the
certain areas of school like library, classrooms, play area, assembly hall, etc. They
are free to observe anything in these areas in time limit of 10 – 20 minutes. They
will then be required to write it on paper and present it in front of the class. This
activity will boost their observation skills and also make them adapt with school
environment more easily.

Requirement: Paper and pencil.
