 As part of Project BI-187 we are installing scraper launcher in MRJN-1 TP platform and scraper

receiver in ZULF-2 Aux platform. The flow from MRJN-1 TP to Zulf-2 Aux platform is intermittent.
The flow is diverted through these only when there are problems in the trunklines to onshore
and requires diverting flow from MRJN-1 to Zulf-2.
 We are installing a Firewater system around the scraper launcher. This FW system has a deluge
valve in the firewater network, which can be isolated by 2 Qty of 6” butterfly Valve. The butterfly
valves are of special trim ASTM B61/B62 BRONZE TRIM, (LESS THAN 16% ZINC) & UL/FM
requirements as per Firewater standards. We floated this requirement to multiple vendors since
2021 and all declined except 1 Vendor. Currently These Valves have been ordered, however
delivery time is 54 weeks. Project ERC date is March 2024.These 2 flanges (24”, 600#) are break-
up flanges to facilitate FBE coating and site erection. The spool has deck penetration and is
located in a congested area. Since FBE vendor can’t execute coating on complex geometry
spools, break-up flanges are introduced in the spool. ( it is to be noted that the standard cut-off
date for this project is July 2011 and the FBE coating was not applicable then. However, upon
Proponents request FBE coating is added to the project piping.)

This CRM is raised to get CSD approval on one of the following 3 options to meet the shutdown
requirement for the project otherwise the next shutdown s beyond the current ERC date of the project.
Please see following 3 options. Appreciate if CSD can approve any one of the following.

Options :
1. Use available (in stock) 24” flanges DC-002-528-00 of 0.625” thickness instead of DC-002-489-11,
flange of 0.875” thickness. (see RB-743056 001 0f3, Item 09,2 QTY). Spools to be FBE coated. No
field welds
2. Replace the 2 qty of highlighted break-up flange and add a Field weld instead. Internal FBE
coating is not possible after performing field weld. No FBE coating for the complete spool.
3. Replace the 2 qty of highlighted break-up flange and add a Field weld instead. FBE coating to be
performed on the two sections of spool before Field weld. Only the field weld section will loose
FBE coating during the weld.

Justification :
 Zuluf -2 has shut down in September 2023 and flanges are delivering late.
 0.625” is sufficient to withstand Operating pressure of 550 Psi.
 Existing platform topside connected lines do not have FBE coating. This requirement was added
in the Project due to proponent requests.
 Avoids need of second shutdown and save cost for project extension besides production loss.
 This line will be used intermittently only in an emergency case when the Operation want to
divert the flow from MRJN-1TP to Zulf-2 Aux instead of sending to Onshore.
 Accordingly, this will never see a Design pressure scenario of 1350 Psi
 Operating Pressure is 550Psi only.

We request CSD to approve either 1 out of 3 options proposed above. This will help us in executing
the Tie in in shutdown window and prevent the requirement of second shut down.
