Conduct your own research to answer the

following questions:

 How does implementing a business plan

improve customer service?

 Why is valuing customer experience

important?

 How can a business plan benefit the

satisfaction of a customer? Can it reduce
complaints?

Practical activity Contact a local small business and interview the 4 hours 
owner or manager about their business plan.
Use the questions below as a guide:

 What is their business structure? What legal

permits were necessary to obtain?

 What are the values and objectives for the

business?

 Who is the target audience? How did they

discover their target audience?

 Was evaluating the market a necessary step

in being successful?

 How did they evaluate the business plan

effectively before implementing?

 How was the business plan implemented?

Once the interview has been conducted, write a

brief summary on what you found to be helpful
information in creating your own business plan.

Research Research a large franchises business plan. 2 hours 

Analyse and evaluate which factors make it
successful (marketing strategies, investments,
training etc.) Take notes to share in class.

Review Review your assessment requirements for this 3 hours 
