The reason for working with two wires instead of one extremely long wire is to prevent an unmanageable tangle in the winding process (step 4). If you prefer a more spiky, wired look you do not need to complete this wire. Wire ring base Make a loop with your pliers on one end of the 0,9 mm wire. Fold the wire around the bottle, wood, pipe or whatever ‘hardware’ you can get hold of with a 5 cm diameter. Hook the other end of the wire in the first loop while the wire is still around the ‘hardware’. On this end, pull and fold back over the first loop. The two loops are interlocked and you can cut away any excess wire. Slip the circular wire base ring off the hardware. Step 4 Winding the base Wind the long strung wire around the circular base. Start at the interlocked loops — this will give it a nice hold. Wind the long beaded wire in and out of the base. Don't worry if some of the base wire is still showing at this stage. Carry on winding. Once you've completed the first circle, you can start filling in the gaps while you continue to wind. Once your first strung wire is completely wound around the base, securely hook it onto the base. Carry on winding with the second wire if you wish. Finish winding and adjust any beads that are completely out of place. 145 Seasons Greatings a By ectal message Surprise that special someone in your life with one of thes: unique wire knitted and beaded cards... Itisa 7 continuous spiralling bead column with no definite row ends. It is easy because there is no step up. A single color, or a random color mix works equally fine 4. Tubular even peyote | This makes lovely design) and you need to step up at the end of the rows, Six beads around makes rope, and 60 or 80 beads around makes an amulet bag with no side seams, 5.Flat round peyote This is a most versatile version and you can make mandalas, netted bags, beaded bead starts, covered buttons and other decorative circular pieces with this approach. How to make the flat even-count peyote First determine the width of the piece you will be making, i.e. the distance from left to right. Thread the required number of seed beads plus one extra. The height of the e be determined by the number of rows you will be weaving. Step 1 Flat peyote with an even number of beads in the base row is very simple. Tie a bead (blue) to the end of your thread and go back through it once. Now pick up the number of beads needed to complete your base row, plus the first bead of the next row. Use red and blue beads alternatively to distinguish between the various rows. Now go back through the blue bead closest to the end. Pick up another red bead and go through the next blue bead and so on until you reach the end. You will notice that the red beads in the base row are pushed down as you add beads op-top of them.ain peyote st the three red beads you just added are considered one row. The base row is considered ty rows. A bit confusing, but it’s less confusing than trying to follow a row on a pattern wi it’s zig-zagging up and down, Step 2 Now fill in the spaces to form the fourth row. Pick up a blue bead and go through the first red bead in the third row. Pick up another blue bead and go through the next red bead and so on until you come to the end once more. Make as many rows as you like or need. The piece will gain in height but not in width. Weave in the end of thread as soon as your piece has reached the required size. 156 Beading tip When first attempting peyote stitch you may choose foWork with cylinder beads. Their straight edges let them sit well next to each other, making the stitch Pattern easier to see. However, when moving onto ffeeform work, you will find the roundness of the seed bead will mould, shape and gel together much more easily.
