Criminology
1. Deviance. Implies a lack of compliance to societal norms, such as by engaging in
activities that are frowned upon by society and frequently have legal sanctions as well, for
example, the illegal use of drugs.

2. Offender. A person convicted of committing a crime or offense.

3. Rape. Type of sexual assault usually involving sexual intercourse or other forms of sexual
penetration carried out against a person without that person's consent.

4. Sexualharassment. Unwelcome sexual advance, unwelcome. request for sexual favours


or other unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature. which makes a person feel offended,
humiliated and/or intimidated, where. a reasonable person would anticipate that reaction in
the circumstances.

5. Paraphil. Are persistent and recurrent sexual interests, urges, fantasies, or behaviors of
marked intensity involving objects, activities, or even situations that are atypical in nature.
This activity outlines the evaluation and management of paraphilia and paraphilic disorders.

6. Embezzlement. Theft or misappropriation of funds placed in one's trust or belonging to


one's employer.

7. Coupd’état. Also called coup, the sudden, violent overthrow of an existing government by
a small group. The chief prerequisite for a coup is control of all or part of the armed forces,
the police, and other military elements.

8. White-collarcrime. A nonviolent crime often characterized by deceit or concealment to


obtain or avoid losing money or property, or to gain a personal or business advantage.

9. Arson. The act of knowingly burning personal property without consent or with unlawful
intent is enough to constitute arson.

10. Burglary. Is the crime of entering a structure (such as a house or commercial building)
with the intent to commit a felony (such as theft).

11. Kidnapping. Attack on or infringement of personal liberty, consisting of the taking or


carrying away of one person by another, by force or fraud, without the consent of the person
taken or carried away, and without lawful excuse.

12. Beggar. A poor person who lives by asking others for money or food.

13. Plaintiff. A person who brings a case against another in a court of law.
