Price Fluctuation Formula

Objectives

1. To increase the awareness and exposure to price fluctuation in the industry.


2. To enhance knowledge on addressing the issues arising due to price fluctuation.
3. To develop the ability to adopt CIDA formula to mitigate the issues arise due to
price fluctuation.

Tasks

Define price adjustment and price fluctuation in the context of contracts and procurement.
Explain the importance of price adjustments and fluctuations in long-term contracts,
considering economic uncertainties.
Discuss the factors that organizations should consider when deciding to include price
adjustment clauses in their bid and contract documents.
Select a residential project of value less than LKR 50 million and using the methodology
described in CIDA price fluctuation calculation, prepare input percentages for the project.
Students shall clearly provide the details in each step of the calculation.

Methodology

 Students shall work individually to produce the report.


 Students are encouraged for group discussions
 The report shall be word processed on one side of A4 sheets and neatly presented as a
bound document.
 Word limit is of 2000-2500 words
