Numerous developed countries nowadays are facing a significant rise in the

length of life. In this essay, we will discuss and explore more about both benefits
and drawbacks of this kind of problem.
The main advantage effect of living longer is that the older generations can pass
down their experiences and knowledge to their offspring. It’s claimed that the
longer people live, the more they experience. They have witnessed tons of
events that occur in their lives. Due to this, they can guide their child to follow
the right path correctly without any regret and deal with a number of problems
they are facing in life. Furthermore, being touched by these things will help the
rising generations gain more valuable life lessons from the previous as well as
modify their life with awareness. Not only that, the family bonds between them
and their children can be strengthened.
On the other hand, the apparent adverse effect is that the growing population of
elderly people will eventually put a heavy financial burden on the healthcare
system. Older people are more vulnerable to more health-related problems in
aged age such as high blood pressure, a number of common cancer diseases, and
temporary memory loss. In addition, this will press pressure on the government
to invest more budget on healthcare medical treatments to cure them effectively.
In conclusion, I believe that the downside of this problem may outweigh the
pros. Nevertheless, the authorities should scrutinize carefully the disadvantage
and advantages and then make a specific plan to solve them.
